2010 NFL Mock Draft

Ben tied for the sixth most accurate 2009 NFL Mock Draft according to The Huddle Report, finishing ahead of Mel Kiper and Jay Glazer.

Round 1 of 2

1. STL: Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
Normally an offensively-starved squad would look for a franchise QB, but the beastly Suh is simply that good. Of course, if a fan-friendly QB prospect (think Golden Domer Jimmy Clausen) blows the Rams brass away, who knows.
2. DET: Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State
Regardless of other needs -- and Gerald McCoy is tempting -- the Lions must, must, MUST protect last year's major investment Matthew Stafford better than they are now. Okung is the best left tackle on the board and the Lions can't believe that their current options are worthy.
3. TB: Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma*
The now officially rebuilding Bucs get in McCoy the defensive inside presence they have lacked since Warren Sapp danced out of town. Safety Eric Berry remains in the mix after spending a season with former Bucs DC Monte Kiffin at Tennessee.
4. WAS: Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma*
Offensive line is the biggest need for the Redskins, but Okung is off the board. Mike Shanahan still needs to determine if potential free agent-to-be Jason Campbell can be his QB for the long haul. If not, re-sign for a year and groom the rehabbing Bradford.
5. KC: Eric Berry, S, Tennessee *
This is a case of need vs. talent. The Chiefs need a serious upgrade along the offensive line and are another team likely taking Okung if he is around. However, if Suh is the top player in the draft, Berry is 1A.
6. SEA: Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech*
Replacing perennial Pro Bowler Walter Jones, addressing their leaky secondary and finding a QB of the future are the Seahawks' primary needs. However, Morgan is the type of pass rushing playmaker this defense is lacking.
7. CLE: Joe Haden, CB, Florida*
Mike Holmgren will surely want to address the Browns' oh so boring offense. With Quinn likely getting another year at QB and Harrison shining late at RB, they focus on the other side here with the best cover corner in the draft.
8. OAK: Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland*
Oh Nelly, what will Al Davis cook up this year? If either Richard Seymour or Greg Ellis is not brought back, DE Carlos Dunlap is the pick; though tackle is the biggest current need. The 6'6 Campbell is more project than finished product, but scouts are falling in love with his size and overall athleticism.
9. BUF: Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame*
Fixing the run defense and adding offensive line help are musts, but the Bills also need a QB. The trading for Michael Vick rumors have begun, but Clausen is well-versed in a pro-style attack and could still work his way to or near the top of the draft with strong workouts.
10. DEN: Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State*
With the top two QB prospects off the board, the Broncos focus on the receiving corps (which likely will not include Brandon Marshall next year). The 6'2 Bryant is clearly the top wide out in the draft. ILB Rolando McClain is the pick if they target defense.
