2010 NFL Mock DraftRound 1 of 21. STL: Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame*
The Rams are torn between selecting a possible franchise quarterback (Clausen) or going the secure route with the most talented player in the draft -- Nebraska's massive DT Ndamukong Suh. Common sense suggests they will go with Suh, but in the NFL you do not win without a top flight signal caller. The Notre Dame product is the best pro style QB this year. 2. DET: Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
The Lions played much better in 2009 than they did the previous three years. While the jury is still out on last season's top overall choice -- QB Matt Stafford -- the offense seems to be in good overall shape. The same can't be said about a porous defense, especially the front seven. The athletic Suh can take over games in a fly. 3. TB: Eric Berry, S, Tennessee*
It is hard to imagine a defensive back being taken this high, but if one merits the honor that would be Berry. Tampa Bay could use more beef up front, so they will look at Oklahoma's Gerald McCoy. Although big McCoy makes a lot of sense, he is not the difference maker the all-everything Berry is. 4. WAS: Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma*
New head man, Mike Shanahan wants a quarterback he can mold, ala Jay Cutler a few years back. Bradford is not the athlete Cutler is -- he lacks pure arm strength and speed -- but he is accurate and a proven leader, two things the desperate Redskins covet. 5. KC: Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State
With Berry off the board, look for the Chiefs to find protection for embattled QB Matt Cassel. The former Patriot backup urgently needs a left tackle if his career is going to go forward. Branden Albert came up strong toward the end of the season, but he does not look like a building block. Okung is an anchor-type player with a huge upside; he is a perfect fit for the ever rebuilding Chiefs. 6. SEA: Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma*
It is hard to see McCoy slip past the hungry Seahawks. Seattle and new front man Pete Carroll will commence what looks to be a long rebuilding effort by selecting the best available player. McCoy is head and shoulders above any other defensive linemen. He is a solid, if not spectacular, first pick for the men from Southern California. 7. CLE: Joe Haden, CB, Florida*
This team need a true, top flight quarterback if they ever hope to be more than a 'rest of the pack squad'. However, since no QB available fits that billing, the Browns will go for the safest route and take the best CB prospect of the last three years; a shutdown CB with flair is hard to find. 8. OAK: Brian Price, DT, UCLA*
Yet another team in dire need of a franchise quarterback. Unfortunately (like the Browns before them), the only two who fit the bill are off the board. Oakland can certainly use a big offensive lineman, so a move toward Maryland's Bruce Campbell is not out of the question. Price's sheer athletic ability will grab Al Davis' eyes at the Combine, thus cementing his selection. 9. BUF: Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland*
Oakland's loss is Buffalo's gain as now the Bills has a chance to take the draft's second best OT. Campbell, one of the faster rising stars in this draft, will fill a major hole at left tackle. 10. JAX: Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
Done, deal and delivery. This pick has been a lock since the first week of October. Everyone thinks Tebow's selection is made for selling tickets, but the man they call Superman can actually become a real good NFL signal caller, accordingly to offensive guru Jon Gruden. *Underclassmen
