2013 NFL Draft Picks By Team: Raiders

Select a Team:
University of Houston cornerback D.J. Hayden is the ultimate comeback story and what better way to begin the next chapter of his football career than being one of the draft's top picks at this position. Hayden nearly died after a serious on-field collision during practice last November. Reports suggest most teams have cleared him medically. What scouts really like about him is his press-man coverage and aggressive style of play. Not only can he play physical near the line of scrimmage, he has impressive speed and burst. Can play on an island and displays elite-level instincts and route recognition. Often gets a jump on receivers and can shield his body nicely to go after INTs. Doesn't have great hands and average leaping ability. Flashed some excellent INT return skills by bringing two back for TDs last season. Very fluid footwork and hips. Almost no wasted motion when changing directions. Takes intelligent pursuit lines while avoiding contact. Reliable tackler in space. Wraps up well and can knock the ball loose on second contact. Stays disciplined in his tackling mechanics. Recent reports suggest Hayden could be the second corner drafted. He projects as a first round... [Read More]
Florida State Seminoles offensive tackle Menelik Watson is a former basketball player who came to this country from Manchester, England. After basketball didn't pan out for him, he went to junior college and ended up playing right tackle for the Seminoles for one season. A highly athletic, developmental prospect. Great frame and sufficient length. Foot quickness has scouts very interested. Knee-bender. Fluid motions. Raw. Limited football experience leads many to believe he has a ton of untapped potential as he comes to better understand the game.... [Read More]
UConn's Sio Moore made a big splash at the NFL Combine, which has positioned him as a top outside linebacker prospect for the 2013 NFL Draft. Moore has above-average speed and plays with consistent understanding of the game. Stays on assignment, maintains leverage and can contain. Athleticism doesn't pop on tape, but he runs in open space very well. Average closing burst in the short-area. Good tackler. He does a nice job of wrapping up and staying square with the ball-carrier. Doesn't explode toward the play and seems a step late in recognition. Flows well once he wants to accelerate to top speed. Really shines in coverage, whether it is zone or man. Coverage skills will carry his draft grade, especially with so many athletic TEs entering the NFL these days. Physical with receivers. Good pass rusher off the edge. Shows good flexibility when turning the corner and uses his long arms very well to keep blockers off of him. Moore projects as a second round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.... [Read More]
Arkansas Razorbacks quarterback Tyler Wilson appears to be a Day 2 quarterback that may sit a year before becoming a starter at the next level. Given the high turnover at the position in recent years though, his draft stock may exceed his ceiling. Wilson's listed height is a bit of a question mark. Some list him as short as 6'1" and at Arkansas' official site, he is listed at 6'3". Those couple inches make a big difference in the scouting world and it'll certainly be a topic of conversation, just as height always is for a quarterback, leading up to the draft. As for his skills as a passer, he is a very tough player that showed some real flashes of brilliance in a tough conference. Willing to hang in the pocket and take a hit in order to make big throws. Accuracy is good, but will sometimes deal with bouts of wild throws. He possesses good arm strength, nothing special. Above-average velocity on short to intermediate throws and could use some tweaks on his release. He moves well to his left and right without sacrificing much accuracy. Knows when to scramble and can sense the rush around him. Wilson projects as a third to fourth round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.... [Read More]
Colorado Buffs tight end Nick Kasa is new to the position after beginning his collegiate career at defensive end. Very raw route running and untapped potential is high. Grew into the position in senior season. Caught 25 passes for 391 yards and three touchdowns. Great length and athleticism. Ran a 4.71 40-yard dash and 22 reps in the bench press. Very willing blocker. Can't quite anchor the edge yet. More lower body strength needed. Moves very well, fluid in open spaces. Adequate arm length. Good core strength and solid leaping ability. Should compete for No. 2 TE spot immediately.... [Read More]

Tennessee Volunteers tight end Mychal Rivera has a bulked-up wide receiver's frame and was a former transfer from the University of Oregon. Should work the short and intermediate routes very well. Can find the seams and weak areas in coverage consistently. Will need more power in his lower half to contribute as an in-line blocker. Active feet when blocking. Big, reliable hands. Good hand-eye coordination. Straight line speed is adequate. Not particularly agile. Looks to run through contact after the catch. Good bend and flexibility.... [Read More]
Oklahoma defensive tackle Stacy McGee never really produced and had some red flag issues in his time with the Sooners. Will need to reestablish himself in the NFL and prove he can handle the responsibilities. Very athletic for his size. Long arms. Quick, choppy feet. Can play the three or five technique. Can chase down a ballcarrier from the backside. Poor hand use. Good fit for two-gap in a 3-4. Good bull rush. Excellent pad level for his height. Needs to play with more energy. Slacks late in drives and in games. Will likely need to play in a rotation. A developmental, depth prospect.... [Read More]

Missouri Western State defensive end David Bass is a size and speed, developmental prospect. Earned a lot of playing time against lower level competition. Good quickness that can translate into a power rush. Will need time adjusting to NFL speed and strength. Depth player only for at least one full season. Excellent intensity when rushing the passer. Less active against the run. Must continue to work on total body strength. Excelled in some respects at the East-West Shrine Bowl. Slow to disengage from blocks against better competition....
