2013 NFL Mock Draft
Round 2 (part 1) of 2
49. (2.17) NYG: Arthur Brown, ILB, Kansas State
The Giant's have not had an inside linebacker this good on the team since Antonio Pearce and if Brown were 3 inches taller, he would be a sure fire first round pick. Despite being undersized he is fast and instinctive with low bust potential. He is also versatile enough to play all three linebacker positions.

50. (2.18) CHI: Travis Frederick, C, Wisconsin
The Bears take the local product in Travis Frederick. Frederick is not the fleetest of foot, but nobody is drafting him to win a foot race. He is what you expect of Wisconsin offensive linemen, a big, strong hard working linemen with good technique. He also has experience at guard, which is also a team need.

51. (2.19) WAS: Kyle Long, OG, Oregon
Washington needs an improvement at guard and Kyle Long is a good value here because of his athleticism and many scouts expectation that he could develop into a very good tackle. That will be a valuable asset for this team with Jamaal Brown's inability to stay healthy at right tackle.

52. (2.20) MIN: Robert Alford, CB, Southeastern Louisiana
After the departure of Antoine Winfield, the Vikings need to bring in more bodies at cornerback, Robert Alford is solidly built and very fast, running a 4.34 forty. Alford is quick enough to play in the slot, but he may have too much talent to keep in inside.

53. (2.21) CIN: Johnathan Franklin, RB, UCLA
Cincinnati has a role player as their number one back and needs an improvement. Franklin has been a late riser, and there are some teams that have him as the top running back he is faster and a better receiver then Lacy.

54. (2.22) MIA: Datone Jones, DE, UCLA
This is a pretty big slide for Jones, who many project as a sure first round pick. The Dolphins will plug him in opposite Cameron Wake and have an immediately improved pass rush and run defense. He will also give them versatility because of his size to line him up inside on third downs to rush the passer.

55. (2.23) GB: Barrett Jones, C, Alabama
Jones is a very good center, who played 4 years at the highest level in college football and won the national championship 3 of 4 years. Jones brings added value because he played every position on the offensive line in college.

56. (2.24) SEA: Khaseem Greene, OLB, Rutgers
Seattle needs improved play and better depth from their linebackers. Greene should be able to come in and play the weak side linebacker positions in their defense right away, which is his best fit with his speed and athleticism.

57. (2.25) HOU: Larry Warford, OG, Kentucky
Houston's strength is their running game and they need to continue to feed this strength with better play from their guards. Warford is stout with a wide from and a strong base, creating an extremely difficult opponent for defensive tackles to attempt to get around.

58. (2.26) DEN: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
Denver needs improved play from their defensive tackles. Hankins problem has been his consistency. When he is on, he is as good as any defensive tackle in this draft, but he will also disappear for long periods of time.

59. (2.27) NE: Quinton Patton, WR, Louisiana Tech
New England lost Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd and then brought in Danny Amendola and Michael Jenkins, I would say they walked away with two inferior receivers. Patton will bring to the team what they lost in Lloyd, which is someone who is capable of making acrobatic catches as well as run crisp routes with reliable hands.

60. (2.28) ATL: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
Osi Umenyiora should be viewed a temporary short term fix to a problem. Even after signing Osi, they still need pass rush help. Moore was at one point considered a top 3 pick based on end of season assessments. He proved to be less athletic them many thought, but just like with Jarvis Jones, you can't disregard production.

61. (2.29) SF: Margus Hunt, DE, SMU
How scary is the thought of the best defense in the NFL adding 3 more defensive players in the first two rounds. Hunt will initially provide depth and be part of a rotation, but he will eventually take over for Justin Smith. He has been compared to JJ Watt.

62. (2.30) BAL: Shamarko Thomas, S, Syracuse
Both starting safeties were let go this offseason. They signed Michael Huff to fill one of the spots, but there is still a huge void in the other safety spot. Thomas is short but very strong and aggressive and plays faster then he timed.
