Calvin Johnson Scouting Report
2007 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report: Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
Im not going to say that Calvin Johnson is one of the best receivers in college football history, but I will say that he is one of the most talented in its history. If Johnson had played his three years at Georgia Tech with a real passing quarterback (not Reggie Ball), his numbers would have been other-worldly. Even with Ball calling the signals, Johnson was able to show exactly what he brings to the table. Quite simply, that's everything. He has phenomenal hands, size (6-5, 235), and surprisingly speed, especially for such a big guy. For what it's worth, Johnson is still #1 on draft guru Mel Kiper's big board. While the Raiders and Lions could pass on him (since those two teams don't have anyone who can get him the ball), Johnson is certain to be a top 5 pick and possible top 3.
