Robert Meachem Scouting Report
2007 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report: Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee
Meachem decided to forgo his senior season after enjoying a massive year in 2006 with the Volunteers. He set a Tennessee record with 1265 yards and added 11 touchdowns. A third-team All-American, Meachem led the SEC and was third nationally with 105.4 yards per game. NFL scouts like his size (6-3, 210 pounds) and speed (4.45 40-yard dash). Meachem can use that combination to consistently shake free from cornerbacks and he will be unfazed when, whoever is guarding him at the next level tries to get physical with him inside five yards of the line of scrimmage. A unique athlete, Meachem is able to find a way to get open with his leaping ability even when cornerbacks manage to stick with him down the field. He should go in the first round, otherwise he'll be an outstanding steal for a fortunate team early in the second.
