Joe Thomas Scouting Report
2007 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report: Joe Thomas, T, Wisconsin
Thomas is one of the most highly-touted offensive linemen to enter the NFL Draft in years, probably even ahead of D'Brickashaw Ferguson, who was taken fourth overall by the New York Jets last year. An incredible athlete compared to almost all other offensive linemen, Thomas' blend of size and speed is borderline ridiculous. He stands 6-8, 310 pounds and can run a 5.0-flat in the forty-yard dash. Thomas even has room on that frame to bulk up and get even bigger. Now that would be scary. The former Wisconsin Badger is fundamentally sound and consistently demoralized opposing defensive linemen, while both run-blocking and protecting his quarterback. Thomas has all the tools to be a longtime, dominant, offensive tackle at the next level, as long as he stays healthy. His only downside is that he is still not far removed from an ACL injury, which he suffered in Wisconsin's 2005-2006 season bowl game. Thomas should be one of the first three players selected in April's draft. Last Updated Jan-31-2007 by Ricky Dimon 0 Comments | Add Yours There are no comments on this prospect yet.
