2007 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
personBen Grubbs, G, Auburn
Grubbs is not spectacular, nor does he look spectacular, but the offensive guard is solid all-around and consistently gets the job done. He's another one of those offensive linemen who tested their hands at other positions (in this case, tight end and defensive tackle) before being moved to the front line. As one can guess from that kind of profile, Grubbs is a better than average athlete for an offensive guard and he showcases impressive footwork and quickness. That allows him to cope with quicker pass rushers. Standing at 6-3, 305 pounds, Grubbs has a solid build but is by no means massive. He sometimes gets overpowered at the snap by hard-charging defensive tackles. Grubbs is a fundamentally sound lineman and his athleticism will convince an NFL team to go after him late in the first round or early in the second.
