2010 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Andre Dixon, RB, Connecticut

Andre Dixon spent most of his collegiate career battling with fellow

running back Donald Brown for playing time. It was not until his senior season when Dixon had the opportunity to be the Huskies' go-to-rusher, but even then he

did not lead the team in rushing yards. Dixon has shown that he can be a solid back (even at the NFL level), but it is hard for NFL scouts to like him too much

when he cannot even hold onto the starting job at Connecticut.

After redshirting in 2005, Dixon saw limited action in 2006 as a kick returner. Though, a

season later Dixon was garnering some national attention. While Brown got a few more carries and a lot more trips to the end zone, it was Dixon who led the team

in rushing yards and earned All-Big East accolades. However, 2008 was all about Brown. Dixon spent some time on special teams and ended the season with just

nine carries.

That left Dixon off the NFL radar, but he had a chance to make a splash during his senior campaign with Brown off in the NFL. Dixon did end

the 2009 regular season with 206 rushes for 967 yards and 13 touchdowns. However, sophomore Jordan Todman got the better of him in all of those categories and

Dixon has something to prove during Senior Week.

2/21 Update: Everybody knew Dixon was a workhorse, as he showed again at the Papajohns.com Bowl by

rushing 33 times for 127 yards and a score, but it was at the practices preceding the East-West Shrine game where scouts started to fall for his footwork. Dixon

is quickly moving up draft boards and when all is said and done he could easily be a second round selection.

Prediction: Undrafted

I think Dixon is a career third stringer at best. Is a team leader but only has adequate skill.
