Mike Thomas Scouting Report

2009 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report: Mike Thomas, WR, Arizona
Thomas is an undersized receiver with excellent quickness and very reliable hands. He has been Tuitama's only reliable target during the 2008 college season. Thomas has good bulk for his frame at just under 200 pounds at just 5'8" tall. He has better than average top-end speed and will be an excellent possession receiver out of the slot in the NFL. His quickness will allow him to separate against man coverage against most nickel and dime defensive backs in the NFL. He is a polished route runner and shows tremendous elusiveness after he catches the ball. He will not run away from many defensive backs, but uses intelligence and quickness to win battles. Thomas has hauled in 42 passes for 569 yards and 4 touchdowns in just seven games this year. Thomas has turned in 100+ yard games in 4 of 7 games this year. He will have a good test this week as the Wildcats take on Southern California, the only elite team in the Pac-10 this year. If Thomas can turn in a big game against the Trojans (regardless of whether the rest of the Wildcats can), he will put his name on many NFL teams' draft boards. Thomas is likely a third or fourth round pick in the upcoming NFL draft. Last Updated Oct-21-2008 by Dustin Claussen 0 Comments | Add Yours There are no comments on this prospect yet.
