C.J. Gable, RB, USC

Gable, a junior, has been pondering entering the 2010 NFL Draft since the season started. As of today, he is still a Trojan. One of the most celebrated tailbacks in California when he came out of high school, Gable never found the groove in college that made him a 2005 Parade All American and one of the most sought out players in the country. He had an average freshman season as he just ran for 434 yards (3.9 ypc), but excelled as a kickoff returner averaging 27 yards (432 total yards) a run back. Then he suffered an abdominal injury early in his sophomore campaign that forced him to miss most of the year. He was granted a redshirt for the year. Gable came back with a solid 2008 season (617 yards, 5.8 ypc), but never was able to outshine anyone on the talented USC backfield. Has good size and overall physical skills. Runs with good balance, body control and burst. Has good vision and cutting ability. Better-than-average open field vision and agility. Is an excellent receiver with good hands and route running skills. Can adjust to poor passes well and makes yards after the reception. However, lacks top end speed (4.52). Isn't overly elusive; is more of a cut-and-burst runner. Doesn't always see cutback lanes developing. Runs a bit high. Lacks a second gear. Is a poor blocker as he routinely shows a lack of awareness and technique. Never broke through with the talented Trojans. An intriguing prospect with good upside and nice instincts. Lack of top production is a major concern. Still, he is a good prospect with good vision and special team value; he should hear his name called in the middle of Day 2.

Prediction: Undrafted

He's not eligible. If anyone worked on this site, it would have scouted other good prospects that actually are available.
