Jeremy Williams Scouting Report

Jeremy Williams has not always been healthy or always involved in Tulane's game plan, but he has always been consistent and relatively productive when given the opportunity. As a redshirt freshman in 2006, the 6-1 wide receiver started eight games and caught 40 passes for 484 yards and two scores. In 2007 Williams was the main receiving threat, although the Green Wave usually stuck to the ground game with Matt Forte. However, he still led the team with 46 receptions, 773 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. Tulane hoped to hit the air more often in 2008 after Forte was off in the NFL, but Williams was not a big part of the air attack due to an injury. He only played in five games, but Williams was productive during that time, catching 27 passes for 437 yards and five touchdowns. Williams finally got an opportunity to show his stuff for an entire season in 2009. He ended the campaign with 84 catches for 1,113 yards and seven touchdowns. Williams even carried the ball 38 times for 167 yards. Williams has value in the NFL as a wide receiver, a kick returner and a rusher. In this day and age of 'wildcat' offenses, he is the type of player who can make plays in a variety of ways. He will not be one of the first receivers taken, but he could be a good deal in the middle rounds.
