Chris Chancellor, CB, Clemson

After redshirting in 2005, Clemson cornerback Chris Chancellor took a similar path as teammate Crezdon Butler. Unlike Butler, Chancellor started four games during his freshman campaign in 2006 and earned some honorable mention accolades for his efforts. Chancellor increased his production in 2007 and ended up with four interceptions on the season and played a big part in Clemson's stellar defense. The Tigers ranked in the top ten nationally in pass defense, total defense and scoring defense that season. By 2008 Chancellor was emerging as a leader on a very talented secondary and again intercepted four passes. However, just like with Butler, the 2009 season did not go as well. Much of that is because the opposition knows better than to throw at Chancellor and Butler, but Chancellor still ended the regular season with a disappointing 37 tackles and just one tackle-for-loss. Chancellor is smaller than Butler at 5-10 and 165 pounds, but he is also quicker and NFL teams seem to like him a little better. His ability to come up and help out on run support is a valuable asset and that could be what moves him up from a seventh round selection to a fourth or fifth rounder.
