2010 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

Leigh Tiffin, K, Alabama

Tiffin has moved his way up the ranks to become one of the best kickers in college football. He was a backup for Alabama as a freshman in 2006, but he has been the starter -- and a good one, at that -- ever since. Tiffin went 25 for 34 on field goals in 2007 and converted all 36 of his extra points. He suffered a bit of a junior slump going 20 for 29 on field goals, but one was a 54 yarder. As a senior, Kiffin is enjoying his best season yet for undefeated Alabama, which is set to face Texas in the BCS National Championship. He has converted 29 of 33 field-goal attempts, including 1-for-1 from 50+ and 5-for-7 from between 40 and 49 yards. He is also borderline automatic from short range, as he converted all 13 of his attempts from 20-29 yards in 2009. Tiffin was a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award (just as he was in 2008) -- given to the best kicker in college football -- which was won by UCLA's Kai Frobath. He was named to the All-SEC First Team by the conference's coaches and he is also a part of the Walter Camp All-America Second Team. Kickers, of course, are an interesting proposition in the NFL Draft. A sizable portion of NFL-caliber placekickers sign as undrafted free agents. Tiffin is not the same kind of can't miss prospect that Sebastien Janikowski was coming out of the Florida State, but he is worth a draft pick. Look for Tiffin to go off the board sometime on Day 2.

Not sure where or if Tiffin will be drafted, but keep your eye on Michael Barnard......Big strong accurate leg with schooling from the top kicking coach in the country..Gary Zauner. DIII school with an explosive leg with great form and accuracy
