2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

John Moffitt, OG, Wisconsin

University of Wisconsin's John Moffitt is a versatile interior lineman prospect who can play anywhere inside. Moffitt is a big guy with the right body frame to play in the NFL. The concern surrounding him at this point is will he be quick enough off the ball to be effective in the NFL? Something as simple as getting hands on your opponent first consistently can make all the difference in a one-on-one matchup in the trenches. Moffitt does not have that ability and relies on his thick body and overall strength to overpower defenders.

Moffitt displays average technique with his hands and feet, two key components to maintaining position during pass plays and creating running lanes on run plays. Technique and consistency aren't big problems for NFL scouts as these things can be coached and improved upon.

Currently, there are quite a few quality prospects who can play interior positions in the NFL draft. Moffitt needs to improve on the finer details of how to use his body more effectively from leverage to hand placement.

Wisconsin's John Moffitt currently projects as a third round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
