2012 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Adrian Robinson, DE, Temple

The NFL loves speed rushers on the edge and that's exactly what Temple's Adrian Robinson can provide. He's a quick-twitch athlete who's been part of a defense that has rebounded nicely after losing two players to the draft last season (Muhammad Wilkerson and Jaiquawn Jarrett).

Robinson projects as a 3-4 OLB or 4-3 strong side or SAM linebacker. Even when he isn't pass-rushing, he can mix it up well by staying at home and sealing the running lanes very well. Robinson has a really great spin move and can accelerate quickly out of it. In 2009, he had 13 sacks and garnered a lot of attention, but fell off in 2010 with only 3.5 sacks. Robinson continues to improve, but he's simply not the first or second round talent many had anticipated after his huge 2009 season.

He sometimes gets too wide on the edge, creating big gaps for running backs on draws and delays. Although he has a good change of direction, he has trouble reading the play and reacting fast to make the right adjustment. Right now, he's a bit undersized and will need to bulk up from top to bottom.
