Jeff Samardzija Scouting Report

Samardzija is out of the NFL Draft and his sport will ultimately be baseball, not football. The former Notre Dame receiver signed a five-year deal with the Chicago Cubs and will receive $10 million in guaranteed money. The deal could be worth as much as $16.5 million over seven years if certain options are exercised. The main point, here, however, is that the Shark will not be a part of the NFL. Samardzija would have been a mid-to-late first round pick if he had kept his name in the draft.
