Brian Winters, OT, Kent State

Kent State Golden Flashes offensive lineman Brian Winters is a very stout prospect who may slide inside to guard from offensive tackle. A great "to the whistle" player, Winters plays with intensity and power.

Winters played three positions in his collegiate career. NFL-ready size. Only nine reps at the bench press at the Combine, but the tape shows better strength, particularly in his lower half. Can better use leverage and needs to maintain a lower pad level. Really strong first punch and uses hands well to separate. Very wide base and can anchor down. Average ability to get out and pull. Below-average body control to weave his way through crowded traffic.

Highly aggressive and will really get after defenders. Will lunge and grasp at players too often though. Must maintain discipline to avoid over-extending himself or losing balance. Average awareness when moving up to the second level. Stays active if a play breaks down and looks to put a hat on a hat at all times. Struggles with vision with stunts and twists.

Winters projects as a third round prospect in the 2013 NFL Draft.
