2014 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

C.J. Mosley, OLB, Alabama

In today's NFL, it is not common for a 4-3 OLB prospect to receive much attention as a potential first round pick, but Alabama's C.J. Mosley may be the best prospect at his position. With a great blend of size, speed, athleticism, and high football IQ, Mosley is one of the anchors of the Crimson Tide's defense.

Mosley has prototypical size and above-average speed. He plays well enough against the run that he could play some ILB/MLB at the next level. In coverage, there isn't much of a drop-off. He's big enough to cover athletic tight ends over the middle and is quick enough to play sideline to sideline.

This true junior takes great lines to the ball carrier and does well to hold containment when on the edge. He is also strong enough and quick enough to take-on offensive linemen, stay disciplined in his gap and make a play on the ball. Not a natural blitzer. Displays a great feel for the game and always seems to be flowing towards the football. Reads and reacts very quickly and possesses great arm violence when building up forward momentum.

UPDATE: Mosley has announced he will return to Alabama for the 2013 season.
