2014 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

Gabe Jackson, OG, Mississippi State

This tough as nails run blocker should hear his name called early in the 2014 NFL Draft. Jackson is a thick, pile-mover with enough athletic footwork to thrive in a zone-blocking scheme as well.

He is one of the top two or three interior linemen in this draft class. Very powerful and heavy-handed. Good girth and can anchor down well. Has enough upper body strength to simply overpower defenders if he makes a small mistake. Some throw around the word that he bends at the waist, but that appeared to be more of a stamina issue than a technique problem. Really good burst off the line.

Drives into his opponents. Really great balance for his size. Maintains a low center of gravity. A bit slow in recognizing twists. Quick enough to get to the second-level and lay down huge blocks on smaller defenders.

Aggressive in doses. Energy seems to ebb and flow at times later in games. May be better off losing 10 pounds.

Jackson projects as a mid to late second round option in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Prediction: 2nd Round

Should go late first or early second.. This guy has started all 52 games and NEVER GAVE UP A SACK. Someone will get a STUD!! He is a reliable QB protector and durable.
