2013 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise State
Taylor is at his best re-routing receivers at the line of scrimmage and matching them step for step with good fundamentals and near-elite speed. Can get sloppy with his technique on occasion and give up easy short receptions. Plays a notch slower in full pads compared to his testing times. Smooth in his lower half and has a very good back pedal. Good instincts, tracks the ball well and athletic enough to go for the interception away from his body. Adequate height and length.
Does well to evade blockers in run support. Can weave his way through heavy traffic to lay a solid hit on the ball-carrier. Taylor has trouble with bigger receivers blocking him and must learn to use better hand placement to shed blocks. Stays aggressive in the red zone, sometimes to his detriment.
Taylor projects as a second round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
