2014 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech

Fuller is the third of four brothers who will play in the NFL. Although he missed most of the second half of the 2013 season, he has demonstrated more than enough skill to have a shot as a Day 1 option.

Fuller is a very heady and aware player. Doesn't fear contact and embraces playing almost anywhere on the field. Has some experience playing a hybrid safety/linebacker position in Virginia Tech's offense. Good height, although a bit thin. Excellent instincts and feel for the game. Excellent awareness in zone and can close quickly on the pass. Gives up too much of a cushion. Not aggressive enough in coverage.

Below-average when in press-man coverages. Needs to disrupt the receiver more with hand-checking off the snap. Very durable until his senior year. Too often tries to bait QBs into throws with slack coverage. Lacks the ideal fluidity to cover the slot. Good leaping and long frame. More explosive than given credit for. Follows in a long line of excellent Virginia Tech defensive backs coached by Torrian Gray.

Fuller projects as a late first to early second round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
