2014 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Tajh Boyd, QB, Clemson

Boyd was a consistent winner with the Clemson Tigers, turning in a 21-6 record as a starter. Although he improved throughout his collegiate career, Boyd never quite led Clemson to their full potential. An all-around solid prospect with a few obvious strengths and a couple glaring problems.

Good arm strength with above-average velocity. Not as fast as you would expect, but possesses enough straight-line speed and agility to evade defenders in the pocket and extend plays. Like most QBs who can scramble a bit, Boyd will often hold the ball too long. Keeps his eyes downfield. Footwork erodes when under pressure. Will hang in the pocket and eat a big hit to make a throw downfield.

Accuracy is a major concern. Will miss easy throws too often. Can make difficult throws when on the move. Adjusts release point with no problem. Excellent playmakers the last two season may have masked flaws in Boyd's game. Seems to make a couple really bad throws per game while making bad decisions. Ideally needs a year minimum to adjust to the NFL style of play (playing under center, understanding coverages, etc.)

Boyd projects as a seventh round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Next to no fantasy value. Could be a late-round flier in a very deep dynasty league.
