2013 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

Travis Frederick, C, Wisconsin

Wisconsin center Travis Frederick continues the long Badgers tradition of putting quality offensive linemen into the NFL. An intelligent player who could be an All-Pro at his position for years to come.

Frederick has the ideal height and weight for a center. He really excels as a run blocker due to power and a mauler's mentality to pursue defenders. Below-average movement skills and could use to work on his get-up when going to the second level. Uses his hands well on first contact and can drive defenders off their spot to create running lanes. Can get off the line at different angles to create space. Strength is above-average and will sometimes flash the ability to deliver pancake blocks.

Good pass blocker. Uses hands well to extend and keep defenders out of his frame. Lacks the ideal quickness to disengage and get out in front of stunts or delay blitzes. Typically forced to redirect defenders when caught out of position. Can absorb a quality bull rush without losing too much ground. Must learn to keep feet more active in both phases of blocking. This will cause him to get pushed upright at times.

Frederick projects as a second round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
