2013 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

Steve Williams, CB, California

Cal Golden Bears cornerback Steve Williams is an undersized prospect with very good man coverage skills. Excellent speed, a big vertical and broad jump displayed at the NFL Combine pushed him into middle round consideration at the NFL Draft. Needs to bulk by adding good muscle. Durability concerns in college. Great awareness and route recognition. Can stay in a receiver's hip pocket. Could improve his press-man technique and tenacity. Bigger receivers too often get an easy release and can body up on him to gain favorable position.
