2014 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB , Nebraska

Due to a lot of positive comparisons to Richard Sherman, Jean-Baptiste is quickly moving up draft boards. He's blessed with length and surprising quickness. Despite his slightly advanced age (24 years old) DJB really fits with what teams are looking for in their cornerbacks.

At just a hair under 6-foot-3, SJB is a size-speed-strength prospect with big-time potential. Still learning the position after spending years playing WR. With his former experience though, he brings along excellent hands, long arms and a big target to smother other receivers. Average tackler at best. Doesn't show enough aggression at this point. Solid instincts and below-average awareness on when to break on the ball. Still plays too timid.

Good press coverage due to length and power. Average change of direction due to sometimes sloppy footwork. What scouts are really drawn to is the fact that he's new to the position and has the physical skill set to improve dramatically. Seems to be well-aware of what throws off receivers in their route. Uses his hands well to redirect receivers and get them off their line. Needs to improve playing with his back to the ball. Sits too high in his backpedal.

SBJ projects as a second round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
