2014 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

Joel Bitonio, OL , Nevada

A "work harder than you" competitor with surprising athleticism, Bitonio is a fast riser in scouting circles after a great combine and good tape.

Ideal height, weight, but less than ideal length. Some teams see him as a tackle and others see a guard. That versatility will benefit him regardless. High passion player who plays hard through the whistle. Could slim up a bit through his core and keep his strength. Short arms may push him into an interior lineman role. Sets edge quickly. Good, sharp feet. Mirrors well enough. Pad level is erratic and not enough overall strength to correct poor positioning.

Power is average. Not the type to really move the pile forward. Good vision and awareness in pre-snap reads. Quick adjustments made during the play. Likely a better fit for a zone-read blocking scheme. Excellent effort and looks to wear down his opponent.

Bitonio projects as a second rounder in the 2014 NFL Draft.
