2014 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Will Sutton, DT , Arizona State

After a dominating 2012 season in which he compiled 13 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss, Sutton's draft stock appears to be on a decline. He added some weight in 2013 and appeared to lose some of his quickness and burst. Sutton has gone from potential first rounder to Day 3 prospect or somewhere in between.

Good athlete for his size. Will likely need to keep his playing weight around 290 lbs. A touch undersized for the position. Up and down effort. At his best when he can shoot the gap and gain quick penetration. Tackles well in open space and puts his weight into ball-carriers. Average strength. Needs to maintain better pad leverage against larger blockers.

Bulked up in his senior year and production fell off a cliff. Lost weight through the scouting process and looked smoother athletically. Likely limited to under tackle (or the three technique) in a 4-3 defensive front. Doesn't have the girth or lower body power to reliably play DE in a 3-4 front at this time.

Sutton projects as a late third to fourth round selection in the 2014 NFL Draft.
