Author's Comments

Based on current standings with point differential as the tiebreaker. Playoff results based on pressumed outcomes

1 - CLE: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
If they're picking first, Holmgren and Shurmur should be out, meaning Weeden's window with the team should be over. Drafting Smith could be the biggest risk-reward pick in franchise history
2 - TEN: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
The Titans should pick Jones and watch film of Von Miller as a rookie in Denver, then imagine what it would look like if you added Jones' ability to cover TEs and HBs
3 - JAX: Matt Barkley, QB, USC
Gabbert hasn't shown any signs of significant improvement, and with the way QBs are being pumped out of college, there is no margin for error. The new owner can bring in a new coach and a new QB
5 - CAR: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
The Panthers need a dominant DT to anchor their defense. This pick should be between Lotulelei and Jon Hankins of OSU
6 - NO: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
The Saints get a reliable, scary pass rusher that they can ease in at DE, or move to OLB like a Von Miller type
7 - OAK: Tyler Bray, QB, Tennessee
They should look to part with Palmer, or see if he is willing to stay and mentor a young QB. Either way, they need to go in a new direction, and Bray gives them the best opprotunity going forward
8 - DET: Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
The Lions take the best player on the board, as usual. Montgomery can add some weight and play 43DE without losing any of his explosiveness
9 - TB: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
The Bucs should look at Hankins with this pick, but i think Te'o fills a bigger need as a dominating MLB, which they badly need
10 - BUF: EJ Manuel, QB, Florida State
The Bills should really start watching some ACC tape or Manuel and Logan Thomas to see which they think they can do better with. I like Manuel
11 - NYJ: Keenan Allen, WR, California
Allen is the most complete WR in the draft, and would be a very welcome addition to the Jets. He and Stephen Hill should give Sanchez (or Tebow?) a nice duo of athletic receivers
12 - STL: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
(from WAS) The Rams need to make a really tough choice here between Joeckel and Hunter. I think Joeckel will be a more needed addition at LT to protect Bradford
13 - MIA: Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee
Miami gets Tannehill a real WR to play #1. Hartline has looked good, but would be better suited as a #2 option
14 - GB: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
The Packers may not want to resign Raji if he doesn't pick up his play dramatically. Hankins would be a very solid alternative at a small portion of the cost
15 - DEN: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
The Broncos should look for a CB that can eventually repalce Champ Bailey or Tracy Porter. Banks is playing like he's the best CB in college football, and should continue to do so
16 - DAL: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
Dallas gets a monsterous guard that should line up a as a rookie and dramatically increase the talent level of their o-line
17 - IND: Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia
The Colts get the NT that they badly need to anchor their defense. He may not be a stud right away, but he has the tools and drive to be one of the best in the NFL
18 - STL: Robert Woods, WR, USC
The Rams miss out of Hunter and Allen, but pick up Woods, who is the best WR available, and an excellent all-around receiver that should compliment the incredible athleticism of Brian Quick
19 - SEA: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
The Seahawks get a real RT and can move Carpenter back to RG where he is much better suited
20 - NYG: David Amerson, CB, North Carolina State
Amerson would fit nicely with the Giants. He projects as a bit of a CB/FS hybrid, and would allow the Giants to play in there prefered 3-safety formations with Amerson and Phillips deep and Rolle up around the line of scrimmage
21 - CIN: Eric Reid, FS, LSU
The Bengals should look for someone that can repalce Taylor Mays, who has beena bit of a dissapointment so far. Reid has the potential to be the best safety in the NFL as some of the premier ones get older
22 - PIT: Corey Lemonier, DE, Auburn
James Harrison can't have much left in the tank, and the Steelers know it. Lemonier has been playing well, and should have no issue becoming a 34OLB
23 - ARI: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
The Cardinals spent a few later draft picks on OTs last year, but still do not have a starting-caliber LT. Lewan would fill that need, and they can keep Massie at RT and use Potter as a swing tackle
24 - PHI: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
Asomugha isn't getting younger, and DRC could be gone by the end of free agency. Boykin has some potential, but not as a #1 CB. Milliner could step in as a rookie, and eventually take over for Asomugha
25 - MIN: Jackson Jeffcoat, DE, Texas
The Vikings like Jared Allen, but he's getting old and Brian Robinson is not the answer. Jeffcoat is a beast and would be a good addition to this young, growing defense
26 - CHI: D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama
The Bears need a LT, regardless of how Webb plays through the rest of the season. Fluker could be a stud in a year or two, if not immediately
27 - SD: Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama
The Chargers need a dominating NT, and Williams has the potential to take that role for them
28 - BAL: T.J. McDonald, FS, USC
Reed cannot play at this level forever, and should eventually see some drop off. The Ravens would be smart to look for a successor sooner rather than later
29 - NE: Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina
The Patriots get a talented DT to plug one of the bigger holes on their defense. Wilfork is great, but he's getting old, and could benefit from them adding a talented rotational DT
30 - ATL: Marcus Lattimore, RB, South Carolina
The Falcons should let Turner go, and replace him with a younger version. Lattimore is a big, physical kid with excellent speed and lateral ability.
31 - HOU: Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor
Andre Johnson's injury history and mileage has to scare some people in Houston. Williams is an excellent WR that can start as a #2 WR and learn from one of the best receivers in NFL history
32 - SF: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
The 49ers need a guard opposite of Iupati. Cooper is a beast, and would be a welcome addition to a very physical offense
