11/19 bu54's Mock Draft Bears 7-round draft
1 - KC: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
He might not be the overall best prospect, but we see teams reach more and more for a possible franchise QB. That being said, Smith has the potential to be just that, and its what the chiefs need the most to control their offense. As Matt Cassel as been a huge bust ever since he came to Kansas City.
2 - JAX: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
Jones is probably the best overall prospect in this draft, a true Von Miller type. A great pass rusher to help the Jaguars horrendous pass rush, though he could be a risk as he is more fit for 3-4 Defense, other than the Jags 4-3. But he is well worth the risk.
3 - CLE: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
The Browns need a stud pass rusher opposite their other young DE. Maybe next year after this draft they can start winning some of those close games, as their Defense maybe be able to pull late game drives to win the game.
4 - CAR: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
The Panthers need a big body in the middle of that Defensive line to help free up their great linebacking corps, and help free up their DEs on the outside of that line. That said, Star Lotulelei is the best DT in this draft by a small margin though, as Hankins could over pass by the time the draft comes around.
5 - STL: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
The Rams are in very good position these next two years to become one of the best teams in NFL, since they have 2 first round picks in the next two years. That being said the most important thing the rams need to do is get help for the QB Bradford, who they drafted NO. 1 overall, so he can reach he's full potential. For Bradford it all starts on the Offensive Line, where that need to fix their tackles so Bradford has time to make reads and accurate those. Joeckle is the best tackle in Draft.
6 - TEN: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
This might be high for a Guard, but Warmack is just the type of Guard that could go top 10. He is one of the best overall prospects and he is aggressive in both his Run blocking and Pass blocking. That Being said, the could huge this major boost in the middle of their offensive line. He could finally help CJ get back to CJ2K. The dividends for the pick would out with any other.
7 - CIN: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
Cincinnati needs a true leader on the middle of their defense, and Te'o fits just the bill. He is one of the best defensive players ever in college football, and has a chance to win Hiesman as a LB. He can play anywhere in their linebacking corps and will be able to lead this young defense for years.
8 - OAK: Matt Barkley, QB, USC
The Raiders have many problems on their team, and while QB may not be the most important, Barckley slipping this far is too hard to pass up. Palmer his getting old and actually isn't playing to well anyway. This pick they can groom their future franchise QB, who will be able to soon than later.
9 - BUF: Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas
The Bills need an actually staring worthy QB. The last one left is Wilson, and while he may be a reach, due to his stock falling from a bad Sr. year has the chance to be the best QB out of this draft.
10 - PHI: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
The Eagles need to help whoever may be taking the snaps next season by giving him time to read the defensive and make the precise throws. This pick is a good as Mathews can take over the job on the right said while getting groomed to replace Peters when he retires. Mathews has the potential to be the best OT from this class.
11 - NYJ: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
This is a good situation for Mingo as he doesn't really have the size for a DE in this league, but has the potential to be a dominate pass rushing LB. Something the Jets could use.
12 - DAL: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
Dallas needs help along their Defensive line, as they rely too much on Ware to get this Defense going. In this case they draft Hankins who could become a Vince Wilfork type, dominate NT, and would allow them to move their current NT to the outside, where he would be a better fit. Ultimately help free up Ware, as teams will have to worry about the other positions in their front 7, instead of just Ware.
13 - NO: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
The Saints really need to fix their defense, and one of the best prospects on the board at this point is Werner how could replace the struggling Will Smith, and finally get some pressure on the QB.
14 - STL: Eric Reid, FS, LSU
The Rams of the pleasantry of picking twice early in the first round. The first went to help out their Offensive line, and the second should go to help their secondary. While the Rams are pretty set at CB, they could use a playmaking safety in the back half of their defense. Reid is the best safety in their years class, and is still fairly underrated still. He's been shadowed in this LSU secondary, from the great cornerbacks they've had, but is a great playmaking DB in his own right.
15 - ARI: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
It doesn't matter whose taking the snaps for the Cardinals next year, if they don't have time to get the ball off. That being said, the biggest weakness on this cardinals team by far is the Oline, as they've given up the most sacks in the league so far. Lewman is a mean, tough OT that's good in both pass and run blocking and will go a long way in helping approve this unit.
16 - SD: Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia
The chargers need help all along their Dline, but especially at NT, as Franklin is a free agent, and wasn't very good to begin with. Jenkins can come in clog of space and help the linebackers room to roam.
17 - MIA: Keenan Allen, WR, California
The Dolphins got a big surprise when Tannehill has been a great starting QB in his rookie season. What's even more impressive is that Tannehill is having such a impressive rookie season with no true No. 1 receivers on this team. They help out Tannehill next year as he tries to avoid a sophomore slump next year, by giving him a go to receiver. Allen more than fits the bill, and has the potential to be a great WR in this league.
18 - TB: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
The Bucs need help at CB after trading Talib to the Patriots, and they'll get an opportunity to draft the best one in this draft class. Milliner has had a great season for the Tide and has been college's version of a shutdown corner for most of the season. He will go along way in improve this young defense. They could also go for a DE, as they haven't had much of a pass rush.
19 - DET: Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
The Loins failed to lock up Avril last off season, and could possible lose him next. Even if they do get him signed, their other DE is getting very old and his replacement could be found here.
20 - MIN: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
The Vikes need to get back to their dominate days, when they had the "william walls" clogging up the middle of the trenches. Sheldon has had some comparisons to Marcell Dareuos, and has a lot of potential to be a good DT at the next level.
21 - SEA: Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee
The Seahawks have been a very surprising team this season. They have a great defense, but could use some help with their offense. Wilson has been a good QB so far for the Hawks, but could use a go to target, as Golden Tate isn't cut out to be a No. 1 receiver on a team. Hunter has the potential to be justas good as Allen, but he's dealt with some inconsistency with some dropped passes.
22 - PIT: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
The Steelers need to replenish their Defense as it has finally seem to have been caught up by age, Jordan has all the potential in the world and could become the replacement for James Harrison.
23 - IND: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
The Colts need to help Luck out, by given him more time o make all the appropriate reads and really brings this offense into its own next season. Another option could be to help their defense.
24 - GB: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
Jermicheal Finley has been a huge disappointment, and the packers could choose to replace him with a better cheaper option here with Eifert. He has soft hands and is a good receiving TE, and is also not a liability in blocking either.
25 - DEN: Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama
Their second round selection last season, Derek Wolfe, has moved out to DE. Thus, the Broncos still having a hole at DT, and Jesse Williams could help fill that out right away. Williams has a dominate season locking down the middle of the defensive line of that great Tide defense.
26 - NE: Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina
The Patriots need to get more pass rush from the inside of their line, Vince Wilfork has been on a decline this season, which shows he's replacement needs to be drafted soon. The last two DT worth a first round consideration are Kawann Short and Sylvester Williams. At this point, I think Williams is the better prospect.
27 - NYG: C.J. Mosley, OLB, Alabama
The Giants need to sure up their linebackering core, as it has been underwhelming this season. Mosley the second best linebacker behind T'eo could go along way to fix that.
28 - SF: Robert Woods, WR, USC
If woods were to fall this far, it would be hard for the Nines to pass up, especially since Moss is as old as ever. Woods could replace Moss in time, and the Niners could have a tandem of Woods, Crabtree, and Jenkins for years to come.
29 - BAL: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
The Ravens can hopefully see now that Ray Lewis will not be around forever. That being said, they need to find his replacement now so that he can at least have a few years with Ray Lewis to train with.
30 - CHI: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
The Bears need to fix their Oline woes through free agency as they've had bad luck with Oline in the past. That being said, their next problem is getting replacement for their old defensive stars. The best player available at this point is Banks, and while Tillman is playing the best football of his life, He is still over 30, and could teach Banks the ropes until he retires.
31 - HOU: Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor
The Texans need to find a WR opposite Andre Johnson, thus enter in Williams who could become the Texans top target outside of Andre Johnson.
32 - ATL: Dallas Thomas, OT, Tennessee
Despite the great play of the Falcons offensive, their Oline hasn't been playing at a great level, and has some holes in it. Thomas can come in a play anywhere they need other than center.
