vanderrr's Mock Draft (Round 1)

1 - KC: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
Kansas City has to take a QB, and Smith is still the top QB available.

2 - JAX: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
There isn't a QB worth taking with this pick so the Jags take the best player in the draft.

3 - OAK: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
The Raiders rank 31st in the league in sacks. Playing Peyton Manning twice a year means you need players who can apply pressure.

4 - PHI: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
Hankins and Cox would form a formidable and young DT tandem.

5 - DET: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
Vanden Bosch is past his best and Avril is a free-agent at the end of the season, Detroit needs help at DE.

6 - SD: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
Philip Rivers doesn't currently trust his pass protection and who can blame him. In this scenario Joeckel would be a no-brainer.

7 - TEN: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
Tennessee needs to upgrade the defense, especially at CB. Milliner is the best CB available in the draft.

8 - BUF: Matt Barkley, QB, USC
Buffalo are going to draft a QB, Barkley is the best available here.

9 - CLE: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
Te'o is the most talented player available and his leadership qualities would be welcome in Cleveland.

10 - CAR: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
Taylor Lewan would come in and be an immediate starter at RT aswell as being the long term answer at LT.

11 - ARI: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
The Cardinals are pretty good at getting to opposing QB's, however, not much of this pressure comes from the OLB's. Jones is also the best player available.

12 - MIA: Keenan Allen, WR, California
Tannehill needs better options to throw the ball to. Allen has the potential to be a #1 receiver in the NFL.

13 - NYJ: Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas
Mark Sanchez is clearly not a franchise QB, the Jets take their chance at finding one.

14 - TB: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
Tampa Bay ranks last in the league against the pass, an upgrade in the secondary is needed.

15 - NO: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
New Orleans struggle to get pressure on opposing QB's so a DE is a need. Mingo has the potential to be a superstar pass rusher.

16 - STL: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
St Louis has to upgrade the offensive line, Warmack is the best available.

17 - PIT: Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia
Casey Hampton is 35 and probably won't be in Pittsburgh much longer. A replacement at NT is needed.

18 - DAL: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
Doug Free has been a disappointment at RT this season, Matthews would be an upgrade.

19 - NYG: Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
The Giants may lose Umenyiora at the end of the season so another DE will be required.

20 - CHI: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
The Bears find the long term replacement for Brian Urlacher. If Urlacher returns next season, Ogletree can start at SLB.

21 - MIN: Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee
Ponder could use more talent at the receiving positions to help his growth at QB. Adding Hunter would help the Vikings discover if Ponder is the future for them at QB.

22 - CIN: Eric Reid, FS, LSU
The Benglas have question marks at safety so Reid would be a huge boost for them.

23 - SEA: D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama
Seattle needs a talented RT who doesn't give up stupid penalties. Fluker may not be the best player available but the Seahawks haven't been bothered by that in the past.

24 - IND: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
Freeney won't be around much longer so a replacement will be needed. Jordans size and athleticism make him an intriguing prospect.

25 - STL: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
St Louis completes the offensive line upgrades with a potential star at LT. This pick will allow Saffold to move across to RT.

26 - BAL: C.J. Mosley, OLB, Alabama
Baltimore need to plan for a future without Lewis and Reed, both are aging and need to be replaced in the near future. Mosley is the best LB or S available.

27 - GB: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
Finley is out of Green Bay at the end of the season so an opening at TE is available.

28 - NE: Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina
Sylvester Williams is a good fit in New England with his size being similar to that of Wilfork, he would also add some much needed depth to the New England defensive line.

29 - DEN: Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama
Jesse Williams is a huge DT who is very adept at stopping the run. He doesn't offer much as a pass rusher but with Dumervil and Miller already residing in Denver it isn't a huge requirement.

30 - SF: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
Dashon Goldson is a free agent at the end of the season so a replacement may be needed.

31 - ATL: Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
Atlanta have needs at TE and DE, Ansah is the best player available for either of those positions.

32 - HOU: Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor
Terrance Williams has the talent to be the #2 receiver Houston desperately need, and the potential to be the #1 receiver when Andre Johnson is done.
