12/10 vanderrr's Mock Draft
1 - KC: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
Kansas City has to take a QB, and Smith is still the top QB available.
2 - JAX: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
The Jags will have Tebow at QB next year so they can take the best player available
3 - OAK: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
The Raiders have one of the worst defenses in the league, so this pick has to be on that side of the ball. The Raiders rank 31st in the league in sacks, so finding someone who can provide pressure on opposing QB's would be a start.
4 - PHI: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
The Eagles secondary has looked bad all season but they haven't been helped by the pass rush. There isn't a DB worth taking with this pick and Jones is the best pass rusher in the draft. Jones would have to play a similar role to Von Miller in Denver moving into a 4-3 defense.
5 - DET: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
The Lions are a team which follows the 'BPA' draft strategy which in this case is Te'o. The Lions have a need at linebacker and a need for some leadership and discipline on their defense, which Te'o will bring.
6 - CLE: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
Cleveland have some talented players on the defense, but are missing a true #1 DE. Werner has the skill and potential to be a superstar in the NFL.
7 - ARI: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
Arizona find themselves in a position where best player available meets biggest need, this is a no-brainer for them.
8 - BUF: Matt Barkley, QB, USC
Nix has made it clear he wants a franchise QB, Barkley is the top QB available.
9 - NYJ: Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas
The Jets currently don't have a starting caliber QB on their roster. Wilson has the size, arm strength and mobility which could make him a star in the NFL. At the very least he can't be worse than what the Jets currently have to offer.
10 - TEN: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
The Titans have the 26th ranked pass defense,so an upgrade in the secondary would be useful. Milliner is the best DB available and would help fill the void left by Finnegan last year.
11 - SD: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
Gaither is too injury prone to be a franchise LT so the Chargers need to find a new one. Philip Rivers was considered one of the top QB's in the league when he had Marcus McNeill protecting his blind side, Lewan could help Rivers get back to his old self.
12 - MIA: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
Cameron Wake is the only Dolphins defender who constantly provides pressure on opposing QB's (he accounts for over 35% of Dolphin sacks). Taking Dion Jordan would give the Dolphins a potential superstar and would allow Odrick to move inside to his more natural DT position.
13 - TB: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
The Buccaneers needed help at CB before Talib was traded to the Patriots, now the Bucs are in a position where they HAVE to take the best CB available
14 - CAR: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
Hankins fills a huge need in Carolina and would be a steal with the 14th pick.
15 - NO: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
There is no doubt that the Saints need to draft defense, and Mingo is the best defensive player available. Will Smith is aging, expensive and not producing which means he could result in him being a cap casualty.
16 - STL: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
The Rams address the O-Line by adding the best LT available. Taking Fisher would allow Saffold to move across to RT, thus improving two positions on the Rams line.
17 - PIT: Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia
Casey Hampton is 35 and probably won't be in Pittsburgh much longer. A replacement at NT is needed.
18 - DAL: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
Warmack is the best player available and fills Dallas' biggest need.
19 - NYG: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
Sheldon Richardson is the best player available, and would instantly become the best DT on the Giants roster.
20 - CHI: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
The Bears find the long term replacement for Brian Urlacher. If Urlacher returns next season, Ogletree can start at SLB.
21 - CIN: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
Vaccaro is emerging as the top safety in this class and he fills the Bengals biggest need.
22 - MIN: Keenan Allen, WR, California
The Vikings need to improve their passing attack to help take some of the pressure off Peterson. Allen is the top receiver available and is good value with the 22nd pick.
23 - SEA: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
Seattle don't have too many holes on their roster. Giacomini is not a bad RT but he gives up too many silly penalties. Matthews would be an upgrade in talent and discipline.
24 - IND: Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina
The Indianapolis offense is looking very potent, but their defense needs improving. The biggest rival to the Colts are the Texans, so adding players to help stop Arian Foster would be useful.
25 - STL: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
The Rams finish the improvements on the offensive line by adding Cooper. Sam Bradford would be very grateful if the Rams take this approach on draft day.
26 - BAL: Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU
Ray Lewis is aging and injury prone so finding a new ILB is needed for the Ravens defense. With Mosley going back to Alabama the demand for Minter will only increase
27 - GB: DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Clemson
Greg Jennings is unlikely to be back in Green Bay so a replacement will be needed. Hopkins stock is on the rise after a great season in which he outshine teammate Sammy Watkins.
28 - HOU: Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor
Williams has the size and speed which would make him a viable #2 WR for Houston, and the potential to be the future #1 WR when Johnson is done.
29 - SF: Margus Hunt, DE, Southern Methodist
Hunt is a physical freak who will see his stock rise after the combine. San Francisco has shown recently that they need more depth on the defensive line.
30 - NE: Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
The Patriots could use more depth at DE and would be happy to see Montgomery fall this far.
31 - ATL: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
Gonzalez will probably retire at the end of this season, creating a need at TE for the Falcons.
32 - DEN: Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama
Jesse Williams is a huge DT who will draw double teams, allowing Dumervil and Miller to get one-on-one pass rush situations.
