1/23 Andrew Reilly Mock Draft
1 - KC: Bennie Logan, DT, LSU
The Chiefs need to generate more pressure up front.
2 - JAX: Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas
A true gift to Jacksonville. With a weak QB class Arkansas's Tyler Wilson, considered a 1st round pick by some, falls to the Jaguars in the 3rd round.
3 - DET: Robert Lester, SS, Alabama
Rodgers, Cutler and Ponder...I would want a safety too.
4 - OAK: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
So many holes to fill. Might as well start from back to front after taking Lotulelei in the 1st round.
5 - PHI: Anthony Barr, LB, UCLA
Great story on Barr, FB to LB in one year and led the nation in sacks.
6 - CLE: Ryan Swope, WR, Texas A&M
Swope is very much in the Wes Welker mold and could be a dangerous slot receiver in the NFL.
7 - ARI: Corey Lemonier, DE, Auburn
His slim frame allows him to move to the OLB position and still be able to rush the quarterback.
8 - TEN: Larry Warford, OG, Kentucky
CJ2K needs more holes to be opened up in front of him in order to return to form. This should help that.
9 - BUF: Kenny Stills, WR, Oklahoma
Another good option opposite of Stevie Johnson for whom ever starts at QB up in Buffalo.
10 - NYJ: Markus Wheaton, WR, Oregon State
A nice combination of reliable hands, speed, size and play making ability is much desired in the big apple.
11 - TB: Jordan Reed, TE, Florida
The Florida product projects to be a poor man's Aaron Hernandez at the next level, not great blocking but good receiving target with YAC ability.
12 - NE: Aaron Mellette, WR, Elon
(From SF) Small school product who could develop into a freak receiver with the right coaching. New England is a perfect fit with Tom Brady guiding and developing the offense.
13 - NO: Trent Murphy, OLB, Stanford
The Saints were very interested in Mellette, but lose out by 1 pick. Getting a viable replacement for Jonathan Vilma isn't bad though.
14 - SD: Justin Pugh, OT, Syracuse
More help for Rivers and the Chargers in the trenches.
15 - MIA: Marcus Davis, WR, Virginia Tech
A big wide out who has some speed and explosiveness for Tannehill. However you should watch WR Aaron Dobson's stock as he could easily go here as well.
16 - STL: Cyril Richardson, OT, Baylor
With this addition the Rams will be able to move Roger Saffold to either guard position or right tackle.
17 - PIT: Duke Williams, FS, Nevada
A pure tackler with good size and speed will fit nicely in the Steelers defensive scheme.
18 - DAL: Landry Jones, QB, Oklahoma
Tony Romo is only getting older and slowly but surely falling out of favor in the big D.
19 - NYG: Kevin Reddick, ILB, North Carolina
A superior athlete who is an upgrade to the Giants front seven.
20 - MIA: Sean Porter, OLB, Texas A&M
Porter plays well in space and is not a liability dropping into pass coverage, although he is a much bigger difference-maker rushing the quarterback.
21 - MIN: Shayne Skov, ILB, Stanford
He can play multiple positions and is a good edge rusher.
22 - CIN: Chase Thomas, OLB, Stanford
Thomas has the flexibility to play inside linebacker as well, he thrives blitzing off the edge and combines good physical skills with intelligence.
23 - WAS: Carrington Byndom, CB, Texas
Combination of size and superior speed should help a Redskins defense in the tough NFC East.
24 - IND: Terry Hawthorne, CB, Illinois
He has a nice physical skill set to work with and could push his way higher up the board.
25 - SEA: Alvin Bailey, OG, Arkansas
Bailey is a strong guard who already is a good run-blocker. He should only get better as he gains experience and has a high ceiling for the NFL.
26 - GB: Joseph Randle, RB, Oklahoma State
Good size, speed as well as good blitz protection skills that should help take pressure off of Aaron Rodgers.
27 - HOU: Andrew Jackson, ILB, Western Kentucky
Jackson was one of the most physical players in college football. He lays the hammer on linemen and ball carriers.
28 - DEN: Mario Benavides, C, Louisville
Starting center Dan Koppen was released by New England before last season because of his age and injury tendencies.
29 - NE: Leon McFadden, CB, San Diego State
The former wide receiver McFadden has a reputation as a good cover corner.
30 - ATL: Le'Veon Bell, RB, Michigan State
Just watch some of his highlight videos and he almost looks like Michael Turner from his prime. The only knock though is the lack of speed but with Jaquizz Rodgers splitting time back there that should not be a worry.
31 - BAL: Darius Slay, CB, Mississippi State
While Johnthan Banks has received the majority of the attention, Slay has had a strong senior season and is a solid prospect with great man coverage ability.
32 - SF: Khaled Holmes, C, USC
Freeman is athletic and would probably be a best fit in a zone blocking scheme at the next level like that of the 49ers.
