Author's Comments

Round 1 of 4. Rounds 2 and 3 coming soon. I appreciate the comments, even the negative ones.

1 - KC: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
Cornerstone Franchise LT. They will kick themselves if they pass on him. The Chiefs plan of action should be to take whoever they feel is the best available player at #1, then possibly look at a QB they like in round two or three, or bring in a vet.
2 - JAX: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
Jags haven't pressured the QB all that well in, well all of their existence. Moore is explosive and, has tremendous upside, and will porvide a much needed pass rush for the Jags
3 - OAK: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
The raiders clearly missed Wimbley last year. Werner is athletic, quick, and intelligent. Has a nose for the ball and did I mention he's athletic? I mean that's usually how the Raiders draft. They can't go wrong with this pick
4 - PHI: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
Philly would've killed to have Joeckel fall to them here but that isn't the case. Instead, they take the top corner in the draft to help an overpaid, mediocre secondary that will be w/o DRC and possibly Asomugha. He's big, physical corner that excells in run support and can bang with the best of them.
5 - DET: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
Spinal Stentosis is a very serious condition and could shorten this talented players career, but his upside is almost too much to pass up. Jones is aa explosive sack master who uses speed rather than power to get to the QB. Jones would be the final piece to one of the better D-Lines in the league. They will be able to use him on the line as well as OLB, speaking volumes to his versatility.
6 - CLE: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
With Ray Horton's new scheme, the browns will need an explosive speed rusher to provide an edge rush. Mingo would be a perfect fit. He had an average season last year, but he was elite level burst and if he can add 15-20 lbs he'll be a great pass rusher for the brownies for years to come.
7 - ARI: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
Geno Smith? Matt Barkley?....not with Bruce Arians at the helm. Arains is an O-line specialist so why wouldn't he want to take the 2nd best tackle in the draft here. Fisher shined at the Senior Bowl and has been climing up draft boards. He would provide at least SOME stability that the entire line in Arizona is lacking.
8 - BUF: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
Buddy Nix has made it clear that he is looking for a "Franchise QB" in the draft this year. Mike Glennon seems to be the talk of the town, but don't be suprised if they take Geno here. The uncertainty of this years QB class is what tempts Bills to take the consensus "best QB in the draft." He has the size and arm to be a franchise QB. He's inconsistent at times but he just screams "upside". Plus, the pairing of Smith and Spiller in the backfield is sure to bring some fireworks.
9 - NYJ: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
Lotulelei is gonna live up to his first name and shine like star. What better place to shine than in the big apple? He's a top 3 prospect that the Jets are happy to pick up given their positon. Wilkerson, Lotulelei, and Coples is gonna be the foundation of the jets D for years to come.
10 - TEN: Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
Jason Pierre Paul comes to mind when you think of this freak athlete. He's very raw, but he has some much upside and ability that most teams will roll the dice. He's been climbing up draft boards rapidly and after the combine he may have a few GMs drooling. Tennessee has been searching for a "freak" ever since Jevon Kearse left so why not take a chance on Ansah. Him, along with Morgan and Wimbley will provide a nice rotation of rthe Titans
11 - SD: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
Yes Warmack is a guard but he is one of the best to come out in a long time. I could see him falling like Decastro did last year but the Chargers should strongly consider taking him here. The Chargers didn't help out Phillip Rivers at all last season, and adding Warmack would provide some much needed depth that they are seriously lacking right now. Warmack is very intelligent and has a great technique, so picking him would provide an anchor on the o-line for the next decade
12 - MIA: Keenan Allen, WR, California
Keenan Aleen is a phenominal player/athlete. At 6'3' 210 lbs he has the size and potential to be a #1 WR in the NFL. He's definately the mst NFL ready of this years bunch so plugging him in Miami who has been lacking a TRUE #1 since they traded away Marshall makes sense. Pairing him with Hartline and Bess, and resigning Reggie Bush could give the Dolphins the tools to make a push for the playoffs with a nice young core.
13 - TB: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
With the Talib trade, TB was left w/o a corner to compliment Eric Wright. I really like Rhodes out of FSU and I believe he's the 2nd best CB behind Milliner. At 6'1' 215 lbs he's a big physical corner that is great in the press man coverage where he can get physical at the line. He is climbing up draft boards and will continue to climb after the combine.
14 - CAR: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
The Panthers have needed help at DT for years. Richardson provides a pass rush inside to compliment Johnson on the outside.
15 - NO: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
Now that the Saints are switching to a 3-4 they are gonna need a nice edge rusher. Jordan is a 6'7' 240 lb hybrid that has a lot of upside and rom to grow. Reminds me of Aldon Smith a little bit.
16 - STL: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
Jeff Fisher has done a tremendous job building that D and he continues with picking the unquestioned top S in the draft. He is a game changer on Defense, comparisons to Polamalu have been drawn, and will add to an already superb secondary.
17 - PIT: Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU
The Steelers aging defense gets an aggressive high motor player to play alongside Timmons on the inside. Dick Lebeau is the perfect coach to push him to his full potential If Vacarro is available he's a possibilty here.
18 - DAL: Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida
At 20 years old Sharrif Floyd has great upside. He's already flashed dominance with his athletic ability, burst off the line, and ability to collapse the pocket. He is the type of defensive tackle who could regularly get 10 sacks a year
19 - NYG: Alex Okafor, DE, Texas
With the departure of Osi a sure thing, The giants will look to add depth to the DE postion. Here they take the talented/athletic Okafor. Okafor is strong speed rusher that will fit in nicely with what the G-men like to do
20 - CHI: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
O-line is a MUST! A replacement for Urlacher is a consideration but the line should be the top priority. Johnson, who had a great Senior Bowl, is a strong, solid option at Tackle and should hold his own against the speed rushers of the NFC North
21 - CIN: Eric Reid, FS, LSU
What t the Bengals D was lacking last year was leadership. Saftey play was definitely a weak spot for Cincy. They were desperate enough to call up 34 year old Chris Crocker who was collecting dust on his couch. Reid is a playmaker and leader at safety. He's the type of player that you want leading your defense. Intelligent, quick to the ball, and the dude really uses his size. The bengals add a great piece to a good defense
22 - STL: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
St. Louis needs some more consistent guard play shore up their offensive line. In Cooper, they gat a mauler that they can plug in at various places on the line and get quality play
23 - MIN: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
Julio Jones Comparisons sure do raise some eybrows. And giving Ponder another toy to go with AP, Harvin, and Rudolph will only continue his development. Adding A big WR (6'3' 220 lbs) to compliment the small and ever so electric Harvin would give the Vikings a big deepthreat they've been missing since the days of Randy Moss. (Harvin is on the way out...so this pick makes even more sense)
24 - IND: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
Hankins is a space eater. At 6'4' 320 he's athletic for his size. And Indy really needs a dominant NT in their 3-4 to act as an anchor to the D
25 - SEA: Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina
This pick is really hard to forecast because the Seahawks have their own little draft board so they can go anywhere with this pick.
26 - GB: Giovani Bernard, RB, North Carolina
Many needs need to be addresses in Green Bay. RB is definitely one of those needs. That's the missing piece to this offense. They found some success last year with the RB carousel of Benson, Grant, and Green, but they never found their feature back. Bernard is that back. He's the best back in the draft in my opinion. He's proven that he has all the tools to be a star in the NFL. He makes this offense complete.
27 - HOU: Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee
Andre Johnson is one of the best in the game, but this will be his 11th season, and he hasn't been the poster child of staying healty. Here they get a raw young wideout that will be a #1 WR option for them in the future while serving as a #2 for them in the present. At 6’4, 200 Hunter is an extremely talented wideout with great size/speed/hands. Johnson and Hunter will prove to be a nice one two punch for Houston for the coming years.
28 - DEN: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
Those who watched the Playoffs this year knows that Champ Bailey is at the end of his career..its a shame but it happens. Banks is a big physical corner that can be plugged in and started from day one. I can see them taking a DL here and a wildcard to watch for is Tyler Eifert if he's still available
29 - NE: Bennie Logan, DT, LSU
The Pats could go a couple directions here: CB, WR, or possibly trade down. They do, however need some interior D-line help is a need. Wilfork has been a dominant player for the pats, but he's getting a little older. I do believe he has a few more years left at least. Logan is a versatile DT that could make an impact in both the 3-4 and the 4-3. He's an explosive pass rusher that will perfectly compliment WIlfork's run stopping abilty. Might be seen as a reach but BB knows talent.
30 - ATL: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
I don't see Gonzo coming back so the Falcons should look to find his replacement. Eifert out of ND is one of my favorite players. He's got great hands, size, and is an excellent blocker. Everything you can ask for out of an NFL TE. He may not match Gonzo's production, but he'll prove to be a serviceable player for years to come.
31 - SF: Matt Elam, SS, Florida
With the possibiltiy of the departure of Golson and as well as Witner in 2014, the need for Safety is a big one. Matt Elam is probably one of if not my favorite players in this class. He's so physical yet excells in coverage. The total package if you will. The 9ers get a great presence in their defensive backfield with this pick
32 - BAL: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
When you think of the Ravens, you think of Ray Lewis. Now that Ray has hung it up, it time to replace him. Manti Te'o has some characteristics that Lewis had: Great leadership and intelligence. Disregarding his poor performance in the championship game, Te'o has had an exceptional college career and I think he'll continue to be a great player. He will need to adjust his game a bit to the pro level. His crazy story, though, will always be in the back of everyones minds.

Poor -- So KC kicks themself if they don't waste a pick on a OL they don't need. And when do we get the QB we really need since in your draft the best one is gone by the 2nd.l
