Trade: 49ers get KC 2nd round pick for Alex Smith Trade: Browns get 2nd round pick for trading 1st round picks with Bills; Browns then trade that pick to NE for Ryan Mallett to be their starting QB.

1 - JAX: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
Banks, at one point, was a top 15 pick. He has dropped considerably, and if he doesn't want to slide anymore needs to provide reason (testing in ProDay) that he is value at this pick. He needs to show that he is worthy of this pick and be a #1 or #2 starting DB.
2 - SF: Margus Hunt, DE, Southern Methodist
(Trade with KC). Some mocks project this guy as a round 1 guy, others a late round two. I think the 49ers take a chance on him. Yes, inexperienced to a point but he has enough tools that he can be of major use. The 9ers can form and mold him into the replacement for Justin Smith. He needs to add a little weight, but his athleticism is out of this world. Instant impact on special teams, and a good pass rusher on the DL. Good addition.
3 - PHI: Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia
Many have this guy falling to round 3, and I am not sure why. He is a strong talent. He is quick off the ball, and plays with a ticked off demeanor. He is a solid NT, and would be a good defensive fit for the new 3-4 scheme in Philly. He is athletic, quick, strong, and plays will agression. He will go in round two, and this may be a little high, but no better spot than with a new coach, and a new scheme.
4 - DET: Jonathan Cyprien, SS, Florida International
A FIU product, Cyprien falls because of his lack of big play ability for some. He is a quality guy and really will need to show big play potential to to be taken here. The Lions need a lot of Safety help, and getting a DE in Ansah in round 1, pairing him with a solid DB field would be good. They get better in pass defense with these two selections.
5 - CIN: Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise State
Taylor is an interesting pick. He is better than his predecessor that is at NYJ from Boise, but he didn't show all the tools he had while at Boise. This is a high quality pick, and Zimmer likes this. He can add to a young secondary, and play physical. He will start as a Nickel DB, eventually moving to a starting role.
6 - ARI: Kyle Long, OT, Oregon
Cardinals knows they need a future QB, but know they may be able to get one on the open market. If not, they can take a solid one in round three (see round 3 projections). They take a OT here to pair with Warmack and build a solid one side of the line for the future.
7 - NYJ: DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Clemson
Jets took a flyer in Stephen Hill last year, and he needs to develop into a consistent and imminent threat in order to have any offense in New York. Hopkins has similar skills to Holmes and is a little taller. It will allow Holmes to go back to the natural Slot position that made him so successful in Pittsburgh. Regardless of what QB is on the roster and starting it is evident they need offensive help.
8 - TEN: Blidi Wreh-Wilson, CB, Connecticut
This corner is getting a lot of attention. He is turning heads with his good fluid hips, quick hands, and solid ball skills. He did not play against top flight competition so it is important to prove all he can while at the Pro-Day. An excellent day 2 selection here.
9 - NE: EJ Manuel, QB, Florida State
The Patriots are going to get rid of Mallet (I feel it). In their trade with the Browns they received a 2nd round draft chice, as they stockpile more players for the future, I look for them to add Brady's back up here, Manuel. A solid QB, he has some work to get done, and with the 3 yr extension Brady received, he will be the future when Brady retires. Manuel is a good, athletic QB who can make many throws, and will have time to develop the necessary tools for a QB in the NFL.
10 - MIA: Giovani Bernard, RB, North Carolina
In order to help Tannehill grow, the Dolphins need a good RB for the future, and I think they go with Bernard here. He is a good pass catching option, and a quick back that can go inside or out and be a home run threat. The Dolphins get better on offense, and IF they land Wallace, make Tannehill much happier, and better going forward.
11 - TB: Bennie Logan, DT, LSU
The Bucs (I believe) will succeed in getting Dashon Gholdson, and then move to retain the services (via trade) of Darelle Revis. If this is the case look for them to go TE here or to get another DL for pass rushing purposes. Logan can play the 3 technique DT or the 0 Technique NT. He is flexible, quick, and has the ability to get after the passer.
12 - CAR: Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor
Williams is a speedster. He is an athlete playing WR, and he can be so much more. If the Panthers want Newton in the pocket more, they need to get him some weapons. Williams is a small reach, with high potential here. He is a vertical threat, and would be good opposite Smith.
13 - SD: Terron Armstead, OT, Arkansas-Pine Bluff
Character concerns could be in question here. Pine-Bluff is a rough place to play, but the measureables at the combine were huge. He ran very well. Showed the ability to play OT or OG at the next level, and Rivers will like him because he is tough, and will keep him upright. Good choice here.
14 - STL: Larry Warford, OG, Kentucky
Roger Saffold wants out if Jake Long signs (which is sincerely possible). If that is the case he may bring in a WR, and a late round pick or just a mid round pick - not really sure. What is needed is more interior line help, and keeping Bradford upright has to be a huge priority here. They got better in round one, got more weapons, but need more offensive line help.
15 - DAL: Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU
In the Kiffin 4-3 defense you need a MLB that can run, and stretch the Cover 2 deeper in the middle. Minter can do that. He can cover well, tackle well, but he is a bit undersized. That won't matter here, but what will is getting guys that can play int he system very well. Minter can do that.
16 - PIT: David Amerson, CB, North Carolina State
The Steelers are trying to get back to their Championship days (evidenced by bringing in Plax for Big Ben). They need a tall, physical corner with good skills that can play these tough AFC receivers. Amerson was once a 1st round choice, but unpleasant testing has put him here. He is a solid pick, and will be a nickel DB to start, and hopefully show his full potential as a #1 corner some day
17 - NYG: Eric Reid, FS, LSU
The Giants need to make sure that the back end of their defense is better. Too many times receivers ran past their coverage and it didn't help that communication was off. In order to make sure all are on the same page, it is important to get a leader, manager at FS. Reid is exactly that.
18 - CHI: Khaseem Greene, OLB, Rutgers
Allowing storied LBs to leave in Free Agency is usually not a good sign, but with a new Coach it happens. Greene is a quality pick and a day 1 starter here. The Bears didn't do anything flashy with the last two picks, but they do not need to. They have a lot of solid pieces they just need to add to them. They are a contender in the NFC North, and in the playoffs with these two picks.
19 - WAS: Phillip Thomas, SS, Fresno State
Washington needs help in the defensive back field. They get that help with Thomas here. Another pick would be a NT that would help take pressure off the linebackers and OLB's.
20 - MIN: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
Ive struggled with this player. Ive never been a huge fan, but he was very productive this year. Then came the drama, and I do not like drama. However, Erin Henderson in my opinion isn't the answer and neither is Jasper Brinkley. Therefore Te'o brings a quality tackler in the same 4-3 system as Vikings, and is a smart player. You need to surround him with a girl (that is real), and a smart PR person to make sure he is controlled at all times. If this is done, he can be a good player.
21 - CIN: Robert Alford, CB, Southeastern Louisiana
Alford is a good pick. Zimmer loves to play with 3 corners, and after getting 1 in early round 2 and an athletic LB in round 1, Zimmer will be excited to start this spring. These are good players with high end potential. If they fill out, watch out AFC.
22 - MIA: Alex Okafor, DE, Texas
A round 1 prospect in round 2? What a quality player. He was highly regarded his fresh and sophomore years at UT, but dropped a little after that. He is a good edge rusher, and can play the 3-4 OLB. He will help take pressure off of Wake and give Miami a very tough and young defense. They want to win now, not later.
23 - GB: Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama
Williams played between NT and DE in the 3-4 'Bama defense. He would be a nice addition opposite of Raji, and with Hankins in the middle the defense just got tougher. With the likes of AP, and Matt Forte in the North, along with other good rushing teams, the packers need to add more defense. Next round they will find a replacement for Jennings, but here they get younger, and more depth up front - something Thompson is known for. Good pick, and good value here.
24 - SEA: Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU
Seahawks took Bruce Irvin last year who was thought of as a pass rush specialist, he was until injuries propelled him to more playing time, now he is full time. Montegomery is an actual DE, with great speed, and quickness. They are adding more speed to their defense here with this pick, and will continue to look for taller, more athletic WR's.
25 - HOU: Robert Woods, WR, USC
Woods is a legit number 2 receiver. Johnson has hit the not so pretty age of 30, and that usually marks the decline. I think he has at least 4 good years left, and that is enough time to get Woods to move into his replacement. Woods will take some pressure off of Johnson and Schaub giving him a solid #2 target.
26 - DEN: Eddie Lacy, RB, Alabama
The Broncos could use an upgrade at the RB position. Manning was great when he could play action, and with no actual threat there as a RB, play action doesn't work. McGahee is old, and Moreno is injury prone. Its time to upgrade with a workhorse like Lacy. He can do the job on all three downs, and give you great yards after contact. He is an elite back here in round two.
27 - NE: Jordan Poyer, CB, Oregon State
The Patriots got their play maker in Austin and now search for DB help. Talib was good for a short time but he walked. Its time to add some depth to a weak secondary. This has been the only weakness of a Billy B team, ever. He needs to improve here.
28 - SF: Markus Wheaton, WR, Oregon State
49ers missed out on Austin, but get another good slot receiver here. They have Crabtree and Boldin manning the outsides its time for them to get someone to make plays inside. With LaMichael James and Gore being the solid RB they are, and losing out at Delaney Walker, they need to add another offensive weapon for Kapernick.
29 - ATL: D.J. Swearinger, FS, South Carolina
A physical and versatile FS, it is time for the Falcons to upgrade there. William Moore is good, but as as SS. Swearinger brings the pain when he hits, but is also a big play DB. He is a home run hitter, and will take some gambles. If someone gambles on him here, they are getting a good player.
30 - BAL: Sio Moore, OLB, Connecticut
The Ravens need to replace Kruger. He went to a "rival" of sorts in conference and they will see him 2 times a year (at minimum). Moore is an athletic, but unknown OLB. He needs to provide a spark for others during his pro-day to go this high. A good selection, especially with so many needs on defense for the Ravens.
31 - KC: Dallas Thomas, OT, Tennessee
The Chiefs take Joeckel but then they add more talen in the offensive line. Thomas can start at RG or be a back up RT, when Joeckel moves to LT, then you have your future RT already, ready. This is a good pick and Reid is no stranger to lineman. He is making a splash for skill players to address his needs in FA, but not he adds lineman to protect Smith. The future in KC.
32 - JAX: Vance McDonald, TE, Rice
The Jags just released Laurent Robinson who they sunk a ton of money into for 1 year. Even though they have Lewis as a TE, they need another and McDonald is athletic. He can run, and will be a solid blocker. IF they believe in Gabbert they need to give him tools.
