------------------------------------------- Hypothetical trades: ------------------------------------------- Jacksonville trades the 2nd pick overall to Philadelphia for the 4th pick, 67th overall (3rd round), plus a conditional 2014 pickOakland trades the 3rd overall pick to the San Diego Chargers for the 11th, 54th (2nd round) 110th (4th round), plus a conditional 2014 draft pick
Miami trades the 12th pick overall to Atlanta for the 30th, 60th (2nd round) and a 1st round pick in 2014
New Orleans trades 15th pick overall to SF for the 31st and 34th (from KC via SF, 2nd round) picks overall
New England trades the 29th overall to Jacksonville for the 33rd (2nd round) and 135th (5th round) picks overall
------------------------------------------------------------
I could also see the Falcons going all in and sending many picks (2014 and 2015 1st rounders and then some) to the Raiders or Jaguars to move up to get Dion Jordan or Dee Milliner - It would probably take their 1st and 2nd this year, 1st and 2nd in 2014 and 1st in 2015 to have a chance to get into the top 3 ............................................................ Arizona and Philly could also get into a bidding war with Miami for Brendan Albert as well, although I believe Miami will send one of their 2nd rounders (Miami has both the 42nd and 54th) and a later round pick (5th maybe?) to KC, since both Philadelphia (35) and Arizona (38th) have better picks ...........................................................
Cleveland could look to trade Jabaal Sheard, possibly to move up to select a QB, or maybe just to gain back a 2nd rounder that they used to select Josh Gordon in the supplemental draft and then trading out that 2nd round pick for Ryan Mallett
Although it would take many picks to move into the top 10, I think San Francisco will look to make a big trade up; players such as Tavon Austin, Star Lotulelei, or even Shariff Floyd and Ziggy Ansah could be intriguing to the 49ers' brain trust - according to the pick value chart, trading their 1st rounder and 2 second rounders could get them into the top 10, while just trading their 1st rounder and the second rounder they got from KC would get them between the 12th and 14th pick...
Minnesota could also be a trade up possibility as they could possibly get as high as the 8th pick if they were to trade both 1st rounders (up to the 5-7 range with both 1st rounders AND their 2nd rounder), but could get as high as the 11-13 overall pick range with their 22nd and 52nd overall picks, with Tavon Austin or possibly one of the top DT being the target...
With only 1 pick in the top 75, and 2 picks in the top 100, the Colts could be a team that will look to trade down from the 24th overall in order to garner more picks...
Kansas City succumbs to the buzz (just like St. Louis with Jason Smith)...could still be Joeckel, and in my mind should be...
Hypothetical Trade with JAX: The Jags have needs everywhere, and they will probably try to do anything to entice a team to trade up for more picks...The Eagles take the bait, and move up to ensure they get a much needed tackle. Luke Joeckel would be wrongly penciled in as the right tackle, which could change to starting at left tackle if Jason Peters doesn't return to full strength from his Achilles injury
Hypothetical trade with OAK: San Diego trades up to ensure of themselves one of the top left tackles in this draft...keeping pass rushers off of Phillip Rivers is too big of a priority, and San Diego could find pass rushers later in the draft
Philly could also go in many different ways, including LT, edge pass rusher, NT, CB...
Star Lotulelei is a mammoth force in the middle, that also has the athleticism to maneuver into the backfield and collapse the pocket...DL improvements needs to be the biggest priority in Oakland (also, getting picks instead of trading them away)
Hypothetical trade with CLE: With Joeckel and Fisher off the board, the Chargers move up to fulfill one of their biggest needs...this will keep pass rushers off of Phillip Rivers and allow him time to get the ball deep...
The pass rush could use improvements, rather it be from the 3 man front or from the outside...However, the OL has just been awful, and although I don't see the Cardinals trading any current or future picks to move up, they can still take the best offensive lineman on their board...I wouldn't be shocked if Fluker was higher rated on their board, as Warmack and Cooper couldn't slide over to right tackle
The Bills will mostly likely try to trade down, but without a guarentee that the QB they want will be available, they stick here and grab another dynamic playmaker for the offense...I honestly don't think Austin stays in Buffalo, however, but could traded later in the evening when the middle of the round comes up....stay tuned....
The J-E-T-S have needed a pass rusher since busting on Vernon Gholston; however, trading Darelle Revis over to the Bucs could cause them to jump on the top CB of this draft...
The Titans filled one of their needs via free agency with the signing of guard Andy Levitre, but they may not stop there along the OL...Jonathan Cooper is an extreme possibility here, and I feel the Titans will do everything they can to keep pass rushers off of Jake Locker and to make Chris Williams as happy as possible...
Hypothetical trade with SD: it would seem that the Raiders are highly interested in Hayden, could use a CB, and moving out of the top 10 just may give this pick some value...
Hypothetical trade with MIA: The Falcons move up, grabbing much needed help in the secondary...I could see the Falcons also chomping at the bit seeing Ziggy Ansah falling in this scenario...
Trade with TB: The Jets could look at selecting Geno Smith, Tyler Eifert, or a wide receiver here, but Rex Ryan has never had a top pass rusher for his defense
Sheldon Richardson gives the Panthers a pass rush and backfield disrupter that they have sorely lacked
Hypothetical trade with NO: 49ers give up two picks to move up to replace Dashon Goldson, which appears to be the biggest need for a team on the cusp of a Super Bowl win...Vaccaro could fit in nicely as a do everything kind of safety...The 49ers could also make this trade to get ahead of St. Louis to block them from grabbing Tavon Austin
With Ryan Nassib still on the board, this pick could go to Buffalo, but the Rams keeps this pick and grab a much needed improvement to their OL...hopefully a pick like this will shut down the blindside from pass rushers and give the new RBBC approach it would appear the Rams will be using...
Pittsburgh can go in many different directions, including WR, CB, TE, and DL, but the best value lies here with Jarvis Jones...
I have always felt that Floyd was a figment of the draftniks imagination and wasn't ready a highly rated prospect on actual NFL boards...here at 18, he does give the Cowboys great value as the type of up the field penetrator that Monte Kiffin needs for his defensive scheme...
The Giants are a hard team to read, as they should look at upgrading their OL or the LB corps, but the Giants shy away from 1st round lineman and linebackers...
The Bears have been in need of a TE after sending Greg Olson to Carolina...giving Jay Cutler more weapons to throw to will do wonders for Marc Trestman's offense...
Cincy could use some speed at LB...Ogletree has great speed and size, but he has character issues which could drop him from the 1st round..
Hypothetical Trade with STL: The Bills may try to get the 16th instead, and probably will if there isn't anyone the Rams feel is worth the 16th...The Bills give up the rights to Tavon Austin in order to grab their QB of the future (or present)
The Vikings still need a running mate for Greg Jennings and Jerome Simpson won't cut it...
"Tank" could go int the top 10, but I think he goes more towards the middle of the 1st...Tank has scheme versability and could play as a 43 end or a 34 OLB...Indy needs a pass rusher, and this could become a sleeper pick...
Manti Te'o has too much spectacular game tape for him to fall out of the 1st round...very possible that poor outing in BCS Championship game was due to be "catfished"
Hypothetical trade with GB: The Packers could probably get better value for their needs in the 2nd round, while Philadelphia moves up to get a backup and heir apparent to Michael Vick...value at 26th is great for a QB that can sit for a few years and learn...
a complement to Andre Johnson (and heir apparent) is a top need for the Texans
Denver needs a pass rusher...this could also be a DT or a CB, but Werner falling this far makes too much sense for the Broncos not to select him
Hypothetical Trade with NE: Jacksonville freaks out and moves up to get Matt Barkley...in my opinion, Barkley will be a bust, but I don't see that stopping the Jaguars from being all over him...
Hypothetical trade with ATL: Miami may not want to move down this far, but getting another 2nd round pick and a 1st rounder next year could do it...The Dolphins seem to have interest in Watson, and could look to trade back into the 1st if they keep their 12th overall in order to take Menelik (that is, if he makes it this far)
Hypothetical trade with SF: The Saints having many needs on defense, so any trade that would net them a 2nd rounder would be beneficial, regardless where their first pick ends up. Jenkins is a wide body, who could excel as a NT in Rob Ryan's 34 scheme.
even after signing Rolando McClain, the Ravens could still look towards an ILB, but they also need to find a replacement for Ed Reed in the secondary
