Attempting to predict as few as the first 10 picks of a draft is an improbable task. This mock draft is just one man’s opinion on what each team could do based on their needs and the quality of players available to them. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
1 - KC: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
The good news: While there aren't many standouts, the 2013 draft class offers depth at many key positions. The bad news: Quarterback is not one of those positions. New general manager John Dorsey will have his hands full attempting to bolster this roster and get the Chiefs back to the playoffs. With the recent acquisition of Alex Smith from the 49ers, Kansas City can focus on filling other needs such as a blindside protector for their new QB - assuming Brandon Albert leaves via free agency.

2 - JAX: Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida
The Jags can go in a few different directions with this selection. A quarterback is needed but the team might be better suited to find one atop of round 2. For now, generating some kind of pass rush should be objective number one. Floyd is quickly rising up draft boards and shows the ability to both defend the run and collapse the pocket.

3 - OAK: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
The Raiders could desperately use help on the defensive front and in the secondary. Players like Star Lotulelei and Dee Milliner are options here, but adequate players can be found at those positions in the middle rounds. In recent weeks, the Geno Smith to Oakland movement has been gaining steam. Smith can learn the system and become a leader of the franchise for years to come.

4 - PHI: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
With Eric Fisher, a potential all-pro tackle, still on the board, selecting Dion Jordan with the fourth pick may seem like the wrong choice. Michael Vick was often running for his life in 2012. However, the Eagles are making the switch to a 3-4 defense and could use a pass rushing threat opposite Trent Cole. Enter Dion Jordan. The athletic Oregon product will reunite with his former coach Chip Kelly and brings plenty of scheme flexibility with him.

5 - DET: Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
Another team searching for a blindside protector and secondary help, the Lions are considered the wild card in the first round. Eric Fisher could easily be the selection here, but Detriot has very little depth at defensive end with the departures of Cliff Avril and Kyle Vanden Bosch. Ziggy Ansah is a raw, but extremely athletic edge rusher often compared to the Giants' Jason Pierre-Paul.

6 - CLE: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
The Browns will switch to a 3-4 defensive scheme under new DC Ray Horton. Outside linebackers such as Jarvis Jones and Barkevious Mingo are in play here, but pairing Milliner with Joe Haden gives Cleveland one of the best corner tandems in the NFL.

7 - ARI: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
It has been recently reported that USC quarterback Matt Barkley won't make it past the Cardinals' seventh overall pick. While bringing in a legitimate starting quarterback is a top priority, protecting him is just as important. Eric Fisher can help bolster one of the worst offensive lines of 2012 and allow the Cards to focus on adding a QB at the top of rounds two or three.

8 - BUF: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
Ryan Fitzpatrick's time as the Bills starting quarterback may soon be over. The Bills are talented on the defensive side of the ball but could stand to add another playmaker on offense. Patterson is as dangerous as any player in the draft with the ball in his hands. He still has room for improvement but could make an instant impact in the AFC East.

9 - NYJ: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
The Jets will be looking for upgrades at many positions - including quarterback. They grab the best available player who will help keep the defense get to the quarterback. Jones, who has dropped down some team's draft boards, has spinal stenosis. This condition could be a major red flag for teams looking for long-term investments. On the field, Jones' style of play is often compared to that of Von Miller.

10 - TEN: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
With the tenth pick, the Titans might consider a prospect like Chance Warmack to solidify the middle of the offensive line. They might also consider drafting a corner to improve one of the NFL's weakest secondaries in 2012. Werner, who has been mocked as high as second overall, gives Tennessee a 4-3 end who can set the edge and get to opposing quarterbacks.

Average -- Geno Smith will not be taken by the Raiders. I don't mind the rest of it, although a few here and there are farfetched to me, like Vaccaro slipping all the way to 21.

Average -- Not bad. Dont see anyway Smith goes that high, unless the Raiders cut Palmer. Hard to see the Lions passing on the best corner in the draft when that is the most glaring weakness on the team.

Average -- Ted Thompson & the Packers won't take a RB before the 3rd round as well as WR. Ist round will be OL/DL/LB guaranteed.

Above Average -- Flip Milliner and Ansah (Milliner to Lions Ansah Browns) Moore is a little low, Okafor is way too high considering no Hunt and Moore where he is
