2/18 Emaddux mock draft 2/10 round 1
2/18 Emaddux Mock Draft round 2 (Round 2)
1 - KC: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
I think the Chiefs either let Brandon Albert or convince him to switch to guard.
2 - PHI: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
Philly trades up so Arizona and San Diego cant leapfrog them to get their future LT and maybe even their immediate LT depending on Jason Peters health.
3 - OAK: Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida
I had Lotulelei here but with his recent heart condition it has me a bit concerned.
4 - JAX: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
Jacksonville trades down and picks up 4th 5th and 7th round draft picks and still get the guy they want.
5 - DET: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
With Milliner gone Jordan is a no brainer pick. Avril is a free agent and Vanden Bosch has been cut. Jordan lit the combine up!
6 - CLE: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
Only way this guy falls out of the top 8 is if he isn't medically cleared by teams or if he runs a terrible 40 time at his pro day.
7 - ARI: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
Arizona doesn't see a great value here with choosing an OT at this point in the draft now that Fisher and Joeckel are gone so they go with the raw but extremely athletic Mingo. I'm surprised I don't see more mock drafts with AZ taking an OLB, both Sam Acho and O'Brien Schofield are average players and the offensive line looked a whole lot better at the end of last year than at the beginning and Levi Brown is coming back.
8 - BUF: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
Patterson is just a freak of nature and is easily the top WR prospect in this draft class. He's an explosive playmaker in the mold of Julio Jones and Demaryius Thomas.
9 - NYJ: Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
Ziggy Ansah may have the most upside of any player in this draft and Rex Ryan will play him all over the field and give opposing QB's nightmares.
10 - TEN: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
More pass rush help is needed along this defensive line. The titans get lucky Werner falls to them.
11 - SD: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
Johnson is a great athlete with a lot of upside, Jared Gaither is always a constant question mark to play with his back problem and an upgrade is necessary for Philip Rivers to get back to the level he once played at.
12 - MIA: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
Safety has been a position of need for years in Miami and they finally address the position after years of neglecting it.
13 - TB: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
I don't know if anyone had a worse combine than Moore, he showed absolutely no speed and no strength. If Moore doesn't step it up on his pro day he may not get drafted until day 2.
14 - CAR: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
This really all depends on his heart condition, if it turns out to be no big deal then he will be drafted higher than this.
15 - NO: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
The Saints need more difference makers on defense and Richardson will give them a lot of versatility on the defensive line.
16 - STL: Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia
The Rams currently have one of the least explosive offenses in the NFL, Austin will change that immediately.
17 - PIT: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
Casey Hampton is a free agent and is unlikely to come back due to his age. Hankins will immediately upgrade the interior d-line.
18 - DAL: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
The offensive line needs upgrades at every position besides LT. Warmack will help create lanes for the explosive DeMarco Murray.
19 - NYG: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
The Giants offensive line is getting very old and they need more talent. The more running room this o-line creates for David Wilson the more opportunities he gets to break one off.
20 - CHI: D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama
Gabe Carimi may have been the worst OT in the whole NFL last year. An upgrade is in order.
21 - CIN: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
Cincy has no problem taking on players with character concerns, Ogletree is a great fit for this defense.
22 - STL: Arthur Brown, ILB, Kansas State
The Rams need more speed and talent in their LB corps. Brown provides an instant upgrade at the OLB position.
23 - MIN: Keenan Allen, WR, California
Once Percy Harvin went down with a sprained ankle to end his season the only thing Christian Ponder could do was hand the ball off to Adrian Peterson.
24 - IND: Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington
This secondary got shredded all year long, they could use another playmaker to pair with Vontae Davis.
25 - SEA: Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina
Alan Branch is a free agent and may not be brought back. DE is a huge need as well but their isn't a player worth taking at this point of the draft.
26 - GB: Datone Jones, DE, UCLA
Colin Kaepernick ran circles around this defense in the playoffs. The Packers need more playmakers along the defensive line.
27 - HOU: Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU
I would pick Robert Woods if I were them because I think he complements Andre Johnson perfectly but this team loves taking players on the defensive side of the ball and they have an opening at ILB with Bradie James possibly leaving.
28 - DEN: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
Champ Bailey got torched in the playoffs, it may be finally time to switch him to safety and draft his replacement.
29 - BUF: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
New England trades out of the first round and Buffalo trades into this spot and gets their QB of the future. It costs them their 2nd and 3rd round draft picks but this offense can become scary good with Geno Smith throwing the ball to Patterson and Steve Johnson and handing it off to C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson.
30 - ATL: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
Tony G may be retiring or he may be coming back. Regardless of what happens I think Eifert is the pick, either Eifert replaces Tony G or the Falcons can run a Patriots type offense only with better receivers.
31 - SF: Kawann Short, DT, Purdue
Justin Smith is getting old and this defense was not the same when he was banged up, they need to draft someone that will give him some rest and eventually become his replacement.
32 - BAL: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
ILB is a huge need with Ray Lewis gone. Te'o may be their solution.

Average -- Pretty good draft,I don't think Philly will trade up though, as it will more likely take at least a thrid round pick to do so.
