4/4 rstern33's Mock Draft (with trades)
3/16 Ryan's Mock Draft V2.0
1 - KC: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
With the trade for Alex Smith, any ideas of the Chiefs reaching for Geno Smith are out the window. Joeckel is going to have to fend off Eric Fisher from here til the draft to stay in the top overall spot.
2 - JAX: Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida
Bjoern Werner has the chance to move up into this spot, but the Jags did pick up Jason Babin which will boost their inept pass rush. Floyd was a combine monster and is worthy of the #2 pick.
3 - OAK: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
His Combine locked a Top 3 spot for the top defensive back in the draft. His 40 opened eyes. With Peyton Manning in the Division, secondary help is necessary.
4 - PHI: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
Pairing Warmack up with Danny Watkins is a nice starting point for the Eagles O Line. Warmack may be the most NFL ready player in the draft.
5 - DET: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
Fisher is going to put his name in the ring to become the #1 overall pick. If he went to a bigger school, he may be at the top of everyone's boards
6 - CLE: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
Cordarrelle Patterson will be in the discussion here, but Jones may be the most physically gifted defensive player in the draft, and the Browns need defensive playmakers.
7 - ARI: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
Geno Smith may be looked at, but I don't think he's worth a top 10 pick. Their O Line was the worst in the league last year, maybe worst in NFL history. Johnson offers versatility and can play either tackle position.
8 - BUF: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
Coach Marrone is going to look to upgrade the offense in a big way. Patterson is an explosive player and will look very good opposite Stevie Johnson. Here's a lock for the 2nd round: The Bills will draft Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib.
9 - NYJ: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
Jordan will fit in best in the NFL as a 3-4 pass rushing OLB. That's where he will be able to play right away with Rex Ryan's scheme.
10 - TEN: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
This is a wonderful fit for the Titans and Chris Johnson. O Line is needed, a top Guard is available.
11 - SD: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
If the Chargers used a 4-3, this pick would be Bjoern Werner. They run a 3-4 and Mingo fits in better as a 3-4 OLB. He also looked to be a better athlete than Werner.
12 - MIA: Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia
Austin will jump ahead of college teammate Geno Smith as the 1st Mountaineer to be taken this draft. He propelled himself with an awesome Combine.
13 - TB: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
Werner won't have to travel far from college to the pros. Werner will add edge pass rushing ability to the Buc D Line which had Gerald McCoy have a breakout year on the inside.
14 - CAR: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
Lotulelei's heart condition has dropped him out of the top 10 for now. If he works out at his pro day and has a showing we are expecting him to have, he'll jump back up there. But for now, the Panthers take a DT, just like we've predicted the last few years and they haven't pulled through.
15 - NO: Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
Ziggy is going to remind a lot of people of Jason Pierre-Paul. Picked up the sport later in life, possesses immense raw athleticism and size. Nice addition to a defense changing from 4-3 to a 3-4.
16 - STL: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
Vaccaro will be the continuing trend of improving the secondary which now features 2 really good CB's in Finnegan and Jenkins.
17 - PIT: D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama
The Steelers are always looking to upgrade their O Line. Fluker is a mammoth human and will be a bookend for years to come.
18 - DAL: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
The Cowboys were the worst team against the run last year and Richardson is a DT that can beat slower guards with his speed and smaller centers with his size and strength.
19 - NYG: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
The Giants have been looking for a middle linebacker ever since Antonio Pierce retired. Chase Blackburn is a nice player, but he's a free agent and doesn't have the potential that Ogletree has.
20 - CHI: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
Zach Ertz may be in the mix but Eifert is a little more athletic and is used to playing in the Chicago area so he knows the weather better.
21 - CIN: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
Don't be surprised if Eddie Lacy slots in here if he has a decent pro day. Moore had a less than stellar Combine but the Bengals are one of the more complete teams in the AFC. RB, S and DE are the 3 spots they can look to upgrade.
22 - STL: Keenan Allen, WR, California
The Rams are still looking for that guy who can fill the outside and allow Danny Amendola slide into his natural slot position. Allen has the size and speed to fill that spot.
23 - MIN: Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina
This is great value for Williams and the Viking D Line needs a boost of youth in it.
24 - IND: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
This pick will either be a CB or a DT. The DT pool is real deep in this draft and they may be able to get a real good player at that position in the 2nd rd. Banks or Xavier Rhodes should go here
25 - SEA: Margus Hunt, DE, Southern Methodist
Another Combine warrior falls into a wonderful spot into a great defense. Potential Chris Clemons replacement.
26 - GB: Eddie Lacy, RB, Alabama
The rich get richer. Now they have an explosive running back to add to their passing attack.
27 - HOU: Quinton Patton, WR, Louisiana Tech
The best WR in the draft you're not going to hear a lot about. The Texans will love to put him opposite Andre.
28 - DEN: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
Champ Bailey isn't getting any younger and the Bronco secondary was exposed in playoffs against Baltimore.
29 - NE: Matt Elam, SS, Florida
For some reason, I'm having difficulty not putting in Tyrann Matthieu in here. He seems like a guy Bellichik can work with and had a great Combine. If they don't, I like Elam here to allow Devin McCourty to move back to his natural CB position.
30 - ATL: Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford
If Tony Gonzalez retires, TE will be their biggest need. Ertz may be the best player available. Seems like a perfect fit.
31 - SF: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
The Niners don't have a lot of holes to fill. They will always fill in spots in their front 7 when available. Hankins is best DL available.
32 - BAL: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
Something tells me that the Super Bowl Champs will bypass the question marks that come with Te'o. He's proven to be a 3 down linebacker who can try to fill in for the retired Ray Lewis.
