Average Rank: 2.5 out of 5 (2 votes) -- Rank This Mock Draft

1 - KC: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
After trading for Alex Smith, resigning Bowe, and tagging Brandon Albert, new Chiefs HC Andy Reid gets his franchise LT. You plug in Joeckel in as a RT his rookie year and if a deal can't be made with Albert after this season you plug in Joeckel on Smith's blindside.
2 - JAX: Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida
I really wanted to plug in FSU DE Bjoern Werner to help improve the NFL"s worst pass rushing team but this draft class is deep on pass rushing prospects and can be address later. Floyd has been skyrocketing up recent mock drafts after a strong combine showing and the uncertain health status of Utah"s DT Star Lotulelei. Floyd is a local talent that you can plug in and play right away.
3 - OAK: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
The Oakland Raiders have so many draft needs that I really didn't know who to start with. The Carson Palmer trade has been a giant flop and has probably set the franchise back a number of years. Well if you're in complete rebuild mode you must start with your franchise quarterback. WVU quarterback Geno Smith will be the first QB off the boards. In most years Smith would probably be a late 1st round pick but this year is such a weak QB class it pushes Smith up the boards.
4 - PHI: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
The Eagles offensive line was destroyed by injuries and inconsistent play last year. All-Pro OT Jason Peters will be coming off knee surgery that caused him to miss most of the past season. Fisher, strong combine showing, cemented himself in the top 5. Similar to KC you plug Fisher in at RT until Peters is gone.
5 - DET: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
The Lions feared defense took a huge step back last season after other teams realized how bad Detroit's pass defense really is. Milliner gives the Lions a stud corner who will face Brandon Marshall, Percy Harvin, and Jordy Nelson twice a year each.
6 - CLE: Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
With the Browns switching to a more hybrid 3-4, 4-3 defense they will need a player who can put his hand in the dirt and be able to cover open space depending on the situation. Ansah is a freak of an athlete but is still very raw and is a boom or bust type of prospect. Could be the next Demarcus Ware or the next Vernon Gholston.
7 - ARI: Matt Barkley, QB, USC
The Cardinals have been searching for a franchise QB ever since Kurt Warner retired several years ago. While Barkley would have been a sure fire top 10 last year, he chose to return to school his senior and had a bad season. Many will see this as a reach (me included) but if Jake Locker and Christian Ponder were top 15 picks so is Barkley.
8 - BUF: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
Buffalo has many holes to fill so why not take the best available player? Many teams do not like picking guards this early in the draft but Warmack might be the best player in this entire draft. Was a team captain on Alabama's National Title winning team.
9 - NYJ: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
A classic 3-4 outside linerbacker type of prospect is Jordan. A towering 6-7 255 pound physical freak has the type of athletic abilities that make offensives crazy. He probably needs to gain another 10-15 pounds to handle NFL OTs but he reminds me physically of Aldon Smith from the 49ners. Also wouldn't be surprised to see Georgia's Jarvis Jones go here.
10 - TEN: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
Tennessee is swearing up a storm that Warmack doesn't fall to them but they take the next best thing. Cooper is a physical player that isn't afraid to get his nose dirty, and after a strong combine showing Cooper is only helping his cause.
11 - SD: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
Jared Gaither couldn't stop anyone last year and was part of the reason QB Philip Rivers struggled; in steps Oklahoma OT Lane Johnson. While Johnson probably won't be an all-pro type of player he will be a solid, bookend left tackle (think Ryan Clady-like).
12 - MIA: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
Brian Hartline is a solid WR for the Dolphins but not a number 1 type of player. The Dolphins struggled moving the ball at times (Brandon Marshall leaving certainly didn't help) and Patterson is the type of player that can take over games and give franchise QB Ryan Tannehill a go-to target. A Patterson-Hartline WR duo would be a pain for defenses.
13 - TB: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
After losing Aqib Talib via trade the Bucs have a very huge need there and local product Xavier Rhodes would be the perfect choice in combination of talent and the fact he went to FSU. Another Seminole could go here in Bjoern Werner after current DE DaQuan Bowers was arrested last month.
14 - CAR: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
I think the Panthers get a steal here. Before a combine medical test showing that Lotulelei had a heart condition he was projected to be a top 5 pick. Personally I think he will be fine because he was able to play 4 years at Utah with no problems. Sheldon Richardson from Missouri is another possible option.
15 - NO: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
The Saints will be getting a high motor, high impact player in Werner. He might not have as high of a ceiling in comparison to other players but like I said he's a high effort, whistle to whistle guy. Werner had an impressive 3 sacks against rival Florida this year.
16 - STL: Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia
2nd year HC Jeff Fisher reportedly slammed his headset down last year when the Jags picked WR Justin Blackman one pick before he could but this year he might be getting the most versatile playermaker in the entire draft. Austin blew people away with his 4.34 forty at the combine this year. The only real knock on Austin is his 5'9 175 pound body and questions whether he can handle NFL tackles. We shall see.
17 - PIT: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
The Steelers have a knack for getting top 10 caliber players falling to them. Last year David Decastro fell to them to the 24th pick (can't quite remember the exact number) and the same could happen this year. About 2 months ago Jones was being discussed as the #1 overall pick but some injury concerns caused him to drop. Steelers will get the best value pick with Jones.
18 - DAL: D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama
Tyson Smith was the only Cowboy offensive lineman that played with any consistency last year. 6'6 340 pound OT Fluker can step right in and play RT for the next decade. Not the best pass-blocker but he will open huge holes for DeMarco Murry and company.
19 - NYG: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
Ogletree is widely considered to be the best ILB in this years draft. Some teams are scared off by his off the field issues he has had but his upside is ridiculous. Giants HC Tom Coughlin is the type of coach to take a gamble on players and recently it has worked out greatly for him and the team.
20 - CHI: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
As badly as I want the Bears to address their horrid offensive line there just isn't an offensive lineman available worthy of being picked here. The next best thing is a passing catching TE the team has lacked since trading away Greg Olsen. Eifert should give Cutler a solid option across the middle of the field.
21 - CIN: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
Cincy would love to upgrade their rushing offense but all the best Oline are off the board and in this day and too early to pick Eddie Lacy. The Bengals get a solid playmaking safety to help improve a shaky pass defense. Vaccaro is considered to be the top safety in the draft and the Bengals are getting a good value on him.
22 - STL: Matt Elam, SS, Florida
HC Jeff Fisher got his playmaker WR with his earlier pick and now he gets his defensive playmaker. Elam was the backbone of a very stiff Florida defense and the only real knock on him is his attitude but his upside is one of the highest in the whole draft. Fisher is the type of coach who can keep Elam in line.
23 - MIN: Keenan Allen, WR, California
The Vikings need to get more playmakers on the outside to not only keep defenses off A.P. but to also give young QB Christian Ponder another target. Stud WR Percy Harvin is reportedly very unhappy and is kind of injury to prone so the Vikings need a playmaking receiver to step up and Allen could be that guy.
24 - IND: Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington
Being in a division where you see Andre Johnson, Kenny Britt, and Justin Blackman you need corners who can help slow them down and Trufant is the type of player who can help. Trufant has the pedigree to play in this league as his brother Marcus is currently signed to the Seahawks.
25 - SEA: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
HC Pete Carroll isn't afraid to take chances on players with questionable character issues and those issues caused top 15 caliber player Damontre Moore to slip. After interviews at the combine caused teams to steer away from the talented DE but Seattle will gladly take a risk with a player of this caliber.
26 - GB: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
It pains me as a Bears fan to see this but the Packers will be getting a monster deal by picking Richardson. If Richardson is still available at this point in the draft I would expect the Packers to be on the clock for about 10 seconds. DT isn't a huge need for the Pack but this talented of a player will be too good to pass up.
27 - HOU: Robert Woods, WR, USC
This will be considered by many as a reach but I think Woods has as much upside as anyone in this draft and the Texans need somebody to play opposite Andre Johnson. At about 6"0 even and 190 pounds Woods isn't the most physically imposing player but he runs great routes and knows how to get separation.
28 - DEN: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame
The Heisman runner up is finally off the board. Once considered to be the best ILB in the draft but after the whole fake girlfriend hoax, getting destroyed in the national title game, and a slow 40 time causes him to fall. This is a good situation for him as Peyton Manning and Von Miller are the stars of this team so the spotlight won't be on Teo.
29 - NE: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
The Patriots don't have many holes and will look to either trade down or trade up in the draft. But if for some reason they don't decide to make any moves they will address their secondary by adding the 2nd rated CB in the draft.
30 - ATL: Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford
With Tony Gonzalez reportedly retiring the Falcons will be looking for his replacement. Ertz is a strong pass catching TE with solid blocking ability. Sam Montgomery, DE from LSU, could be another option.
31 - SF: Margus Hunt, DE, Southern Methodist
San Fran just got the 34th pick in the draft in the Alex Smith trade and it wouldn't surprise me if they packaged that pick and this pick to move up and get Justin Smith's future replacement but if they don't they should go with the physically gifted but raw DE Hunt. Hunt won't be asked to do much in his first couple years while he sits behind on the best in the game.
32 - BAL: Eric Reid, FS, LSU
With future HOF Ed Reed pondering retirement the Super Bowl champs will be drafting to get his replacement and that comes in LSU safety Eric Reid. With Rey Lewis retiring I could see the Ravens reaching for Kansas State ILB Arthur Brown.
