2/18 billyb0b's Mock Draft 1.9 No Trades
1 - KC: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
Releasing Eric Winston was an clear sign that Joeckel will be the number 1 pick in 2013 NFL Draft. He is everything you want from a LT and more size, speed, strength, and foot work.
2 - JAX: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
Jaguars had only 20 sacks last year JJ Watt had more sacks alone then their whole team. Dion Jordan is SLB/DE similar to Aldon Smith and Von Miller he can play in space plus rush the passer he could add a few pounds and inside power move but besides that he is the complete player.
3 - OAK: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
This is pick is going off that Star's heart is ok and if not the Raiders will pick Floyd. Kelly will be released soon and Seymour is bye bye as well they are starting fresh this team has a lot of needs and cap issues. Star is a spitting image of Ngata from the Ravens is a monster inside great against the run and solid in pass rushing situations.
4 - PHI: Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida
With Peters coming back I believe Chip Kelly knows he has a better offensive line than last years but this defense transforming into an 3-4 needs some lineman. Floyd is a great pass rusher and good run blocker plus he can play the 3 or 5 technique.
5 - DET: Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU
Avril is a free agent and KVB is an cap casualty meaning they have a huge hole on DE now. Detriot has never made CB a priority in the first round so why would they do it now. Ansah Combine was disgustingly good while being a bit raw he has all the tools to be a 10+ sack guy a year.
6 - CLE: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
While Corner is not their biggest need with only Haden as a true number 1 they could use Milliner since OLB they will find in Free Agency. Milliner is a physical corner who is use to some of the 3-4 schemes coming from bama could provide a lethal force 1-2 punch for the Browns.
7 - ARI: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
Moving Levi Brown to RT where he played well before is the best move and letting Fisher play LT will allow them better protection for who ever is QB this year. Fisher is a notch below Joeckel only because Joeckel saw better competition in the SEC.
8 - BUF: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
This pick could be Patterson but Smith is too tempting to not take for the Bills Gm Nix since they are not sold on Fitzpatrick. Smith really should not be a top ten pick however he has all the tools you would want from a QB besides vision.
9 - NYJ: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU
The Jets as a whole team needs some repairing however releasing Pace and Thomas being a free agent the Jets really are lacking in the sack category. Mingo is a smaller version of Demarcus Ware he needs to add about 15 pounds or so to better protect the run but as a pass rusher not many are better than him in this draft.
10 - TEN: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
This offensive line needs help ASAP if this team is to start get this offense moving you paid big money to Chris Johnson now get guys that can open holes for him. Warmack is a pure guard but he is a bruiser who if he was a OT would be easily Top 5.
11 - SD: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
McCoy and Whisenhunt know keeping their franchise QB off the ground is a must and they desperatly need a LT since Gaither is more of a RT. Johnson is quick and light footed while showing great technique in the Senior Bowl rarely getting pushed around.
12 - MIA: Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington
Sean Smith is likely gone while Vontae Davis left in a trade last year so this team needs some Corners now. Trufant is a pedigree type player and his combine numbers were dead on with Milliners and he had one heck of an Senior Bowl game.
13 - NYJ: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
Trade TB to NYJ for Revis. With Holmes likely on the way out if he does not restructure the Jets need some WR help asap Hill is similar to Patterson however is more physical and better hands.
14 - CAR: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
They didn't grab Cox last year since Kuechley fell to them and when he did they had no other choice. Richardson was a monster in the middle with an non stop motor..
15 - NO: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
Spine Injury will concern a lot of the top draft pick teams however with a team like the Saints they can afford to take this risk. Jones is an elite pass rusher and ball hawk but with them spinal issues it could scare a lot of teams.
16 - STL: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
Cooper shined at the combine showing he is the more athletic and just as strong as Warmack while being more scheme versatile since he can play all three interior line positions. Cooper is an athletic freak and the fact he is so versatile Fisher will love him since he can play center when Wells is done his contract.
17 - PIT: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
With Harrison's release they know they need someone who can help fill his shoes. Werner is a relentless attacker and would fit in perfectly with the Steeler nation.
18 - DAL: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
While Dallas needs a O lineman badly however they rarely spend a first round pick on one. The Cowboys were linked to trading up for Barron last year however Claibourne fell in their lap. Vaccaro is a FS/SS hybrid that has good speed and range to ensure this secondary fixed for the next couple years.
19 - NYG: D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama
Fluker is a big bodied bully of an RT and can replace both Locklear and Diehl easily in NYG
20 - CHI: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia
Roach and Urlacher are both free agents and both could be gone from the Bears. Ogletree is one of the top 5 athletic players in the draft but did have some off the field issues.
21 - CIN: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
This team need safety/corner help and can move last years 1st round draft pick Kirkpatrick to safety. Rhodes is similar to Brandon Browner he is physical with good speed could add some weight to tackle better.
22 - STL: Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia
Danny Amendola contract looks like they won't get an deal done this year with the money he is asking. Austin is an mix of Percy Harvin's explosiveness and Wes Welker's hands.
23 - MIN: Keenan Allen, WR, California
Percy Harvin might be leaving since he really has no interest in being an Viking anymore. Allen has good size with speed and quickness that they really missed that physical WR since Sidney Rice has gone.
24 - IND: Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina
This team needs line help and Williams can play both NT and the 1 technique the playoffs showed #chuckstrong can only motivate so much. Williams is a very athletic DT he has the size and speed for the 3-4.
25 - SEA: Kawann Short, DT, Purdue
Seattle needs to get more constant pressure from the inside Branch and Jones are free agents and Mebane is only one guy. Short is a good pass rusher and solid run defender he could work on some technique and fight off double teams.
26 - GB: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
I believe Finley is gone soon from the Packers since he is unreliable dropping a ton of passer last year. Eifert is an absolute beast and is an all around monster of a TE who can block and catch.
27 - HOU: Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
Barwin could be lost this year and Houston could look to Moore who took a big dip after his bad combine and pro day. Moore is an elite pass rusher but he needs to increase his strength.
28 - PHI: EJ Manuel, QB, Florida State
Trade DEN to PHL: Vick is a not a sure bet, Dixion is being given a chance, and Foles does not fit the system. Manuel showed he is a winner at the Senior Bowl and had a solid pro day plus he could be a draft steal by the eagle if he pans out.
29 - NE: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
They will get a free agent corner however Arrington can not be the number 2 corner if they want to win another super bowl. Banks is a physical corner who can stand to learn a few things and work on his frame but always stays with his man.
30 - ATL: Datone Jones, DE, UCLA
Abraham was cut and that means their sack leader is gone and they need to start getting pressure on the QB since it was one of the reasons why they lost the NFC championship. Jones has been moving up the draft boards he has good size but needs to work on technique.
31 - SF: Jonathan Cyprien, SS, Florida International
San Fran can not retain both Safeties however that is fine since the bottom end of the 1st round has some solid prospects at S. Cyprien is moving up the board fast and could even pass Vaccaro as the top safety.
32 - BAL: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State
I know everyone will be on the get a MLB kick with Ray Lewis gone but NT is a position of great need, Kemoeatu is 34 and Cody is a back up for life. Hankins could really be a good NT in the NFL he has good strength could try to add some speed and some technique.
