Author's Comments

There will be plenty of offensive talent skill position talent selected in the 3rd round

1 - HOU: Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU
I dont' know if Mettenberger's stock matches this draft slot, but I think he's the type of QB the Texans are looking for
2 - WAS: David Yankey, G , Stanford
The Skins used to run a zone blocking scheme but they are moving to a power scheme, that requires new personnel
3 - CLE: Phillip Gaines, CB , Rice
Haden locks down one side of the field, they're looking for an upgrade on the other side
4 - NE: Ra'Shede Hageman, DL , Minnesota
*TRADE* They are old at DT and faced injuries there last season
5 - STL: Ryan Shazier, LB , Ohio State
*TRADE* This is the Rams 2nd round pick after trading back with Atlanta and then trading up with Buffalo. They use it to strengthen their LB corps
6 - TB: Joel Bitonio, OL , Nevada
Can play anywhere on the OL
7 - JAX: Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois
They passed on QB in the first and Garoppolo fits their west coast offense
8 - MIN: Kyle Van Noy, OLB, BYU
They'll find a way to address the back 7 on defense
9 - BUF: Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia
Can play either OT position
10 - TEN: Carlos Hyde, RB , Ohio State
Whisenhunt likes power backs
11 - NYG: Jace Amaro, TE , Texas Tech
There is a need at TE
12 - BUF: Demarcus Lawrence, DE , Boise State
*TRADE* in the pick acquired for moving back in the 1st, they add to the pass rush
13 - DET: Jimmie Ward, S , Northern Illinois
In a division with the Packers and Bears, you need lots of CBs
14 - PIT: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State
They're looking for a WR with size
15 - DAL: Terrence Brooks, DB , Florida State
All levels of defense could use work, safety the most
16 - DET: Marcus Martin, G , USC
*TRADE* Will start off at OG then move to OC
17 - NYJ: Allen Robinson, WR , Penn State
After adding a CB earlier, they move to their shallow WR pool
18 - MIA: Dominique Easley, DT, Florida
They lost a DT in free agency and Randy Starks is getting older
19 - CHI: Lamarcus Joyner, CB, Florida State
Still working on improving that defense, Joyner helps at CB and FS
20 - ARI: Deone Bucannon, S , Washington State
Rounding out the secondary
22 - PHI: Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State
The departure of Desean Jackson leaves a hole at WR
23 - SF: Cody Latimer, WR , Indiana
Another WR is needed
24 - CIN: Marcus Smith, DE , louisville
To add to the DE rotation after Michael Johnson left
25 - SD: Keith McGill, DB , Utah
They had some of the worst CBs in the league last year
26 - IND: Gabe Jackson, OG, Mississippi State
Andrew Luck needs protection and the ground game needs holes to run through
27 - NO: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
A young WR to develop behind Colston
28 - CAR: Jarvis Landry, WR , LSU
Along with the OL, they have to rebuild receiving corps
29 - NE: Troy Niklas, TE , Notre Dame
They obviously lost Hernandez and Gronk can't stay healthy
30 - SF: Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech
With Aldon Smith's arrest, they'll be looking to move on at OLB
32 - SEA: Ja'Wuan James, OL , Tennessee
Reinforcements for that OL

Average -- Trent Murphy's got a lot of detractors at this point. I see OLB as the most likely Vikings target round 2, with Van Noy and Shazier being at the top of the list.

-- Honestly, I think he could be a 2nd round pick. Maybe put him ahead of Moncreif. If not 2nd, then early 3rd

Above Average -- if Landry is there in the 2nd rd i dont think saints will be able to pass on him unless the wrs arent being taken and they can steal one late in the third
