2/1 Booshay74's Mock Draft
1 - HOU: Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida
It's no coincidence that after Bortles strong pro day the Texans decided to trade Matt Schaub to the Raiders. They have found their answer at QB.
2 - STL: Jadeveon Clowney, DE , South Carolina
Best player available that gives the Rams the most dominating pass rush in all of football.
3 - JAX: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
No Qb is worthy of this spot but an electrifying receiver who will make things easier either on Henne or a rookie coming in will certainly improve the passing game of the Jaguars.
4 - TEN: Khalil Mack, LB , Buffalo
TRADE - the Titans make teh first big move of the draft and trade up to grab their answer to their 3-4 outside pass rusher woes. Mack is the best 3-4 OLB prospect in thsi draft
5 - OAK: Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn
After missing out on Roger Saffold, the Raiders decide to sure up the LT spot by adding the supremely athletic and most gifted T in the draft.
6 - ATL: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
Probably the safest pick in the draft this year. Fills a need for the Falcons and is the BPA.
7 - STL: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
TRADE - STL has had plenty of draft picks to work with so they have the ability to make a few trades. They move up and grab Justin Gilbert to replace Corteland Finnegan. Clowney and Gilbert immediately give the Rams an A+ for their draft.
8 - MIN: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
Minnesota is in dire need of a QB and Teddy is the best left on the board. Despite his poor pro day, reports say the Vikings are still quite high on him.
9 - BUF: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M
E.J Manuel showed some promise but he needs some more talent around him. Mike Evans is a big, big target for E.J.
10 - DET: Darqueze Dennard, CB , Michigan State
Detroit always needs help in the secondary, Darqueze Dennard helps fill that void.
11 - CLE: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
Reports say Cleveland really love Derek Carr and after his strong pro day, I think Cleveland might make a small reach here but its for a guy they really like.
12 - NYG: Aaron Donald, DL , Pittsburgh
Aaron Donald is the most explosive DT in this draft and I really hope he falls to my Chicago Bears but after his combine and Senior Bowl performance, I just don't see it happening.
13 - TB: Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina
Timothy Wright isn't the answer at TE...Eric Ebron could be the next big time TE in the NFL.
14 - NYJ: Marqise Lee, WR , USC
TRADE - The Jets move up here to remove the risk of missing out on another receiving threat.
15 - PIT: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
Lewan falls a little bit here due to his off-field issues but Pittsburgh sees him as the BPA and fills a position of need.
16 - DAL: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
Here it is. The ultimate Jerry Jones move. Jerry jones has stated how much he loves Johnny Football but he never thought he would get a chance to draft him. After his combine and pro day, I think his stock has fallen and that could see him fall to Dallas. This isn't the smartest move but let's not forget who is running the show in Dallas.
17 - BAL: Anthony Barr, LB, UCLA
Baltimore goes with the most talented player available here and if there is any team that will know how to use this kid's outstanding athleticism on defense, it will be the Ravens.
18 - CHI: Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix, FS, Alabama
After missing out on Aaron Donald, the Bears go to plan B and make a trade down and grab the best safety in the draft.
19 - MIA: Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame
Miami needs serious help on the offensive line, Zack Martin brings a high character guy into their locker room who fills a need.
20 - ARI: C.J. Mosley, OLB, Alabama
Arizona saw karlos Dansby and Jasper Brinkley head off in free agency. C.J Mosley fills their need for an ILB in their 3-4 defense and is also the best player available.
21 - GB: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
GB needs some serious help on defense and Calvin Pryor brings a nasty, big hitting presence to their secondary.
22 - PHI: Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
Philly's offense was great last season but their defense was horrible after transitioning to a 3-4. Louis Nix gives Philly that big 3-4 NT you need to be successful.
23 - SF: Odell Beckham, WR , LSU
TRADE - SF moves up and grabs a talented receiver in Odell Beckham to boost their passing game which was obsolete last season.
24 - CIN: Kony Ealy, DL , Missouri
One long atheltic DE leaves, the Bengals replace him with another.
25 - SD: Bradley Roby, CB , Ohio State
SD needs serious help in the secondary. Roby maybe be the 2nd most physically gifted CB in this draft after Gilbert.
26 - CLE: Brandin Cooks, WR , Oregon State
Cleveland continutes to improve their defense by adding some serious speed to their offense with Brandin Cooks.
27 - NO: Ra'Shede Hageman, DL , Minnesota
Another toy for Rob Ryan to play with on defense.
28 - CAR: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State
Carolina needs WR's BADLY.
29 - NE: Jason Verrett, CB , TCU
New England grabs a steal in Jason Verrett.
30 - KC: Xavier Su'a-Filo, OL , UCLA
KC desperately needs some help on the O-line after seeinga couple of starters depart through free agency.
31 - DEN: Ryan Shazier, LB , Ohio State
Woodyard was not the answer at LB for the Broncos and after Shazier's big pro day, he warrants a first round selection.
32 - SEA: Tim Jernigan, DT, Florida State
Simple case of best player available. I am not a huge fan of Jernigan's but at this spot and on this team...I think he can find his niche.
