3/16 My 1st Mock of 2014
1 - HOU: Jadeveon Clowney, DE , South Carolina
Regardless of all the smokescreens, Houston is probably locked on Clowney unless they fall in love with a QB in the next few days.
2 - MIN: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
*TRADE* Vikings need a QB probably more than anyone and what better way to get one then to add Manziel to go along with AP and Cordarrelle Patterson.
3 - JAX: Khalil Mack, LB , Buffalo
Jags do need a QB very badly, but how can Gus Bradley pass on Khalil Mack? Their will be a solid QB available still in round 2.
4 - DET: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
*TRADE* Detroit could very well jump ahead of Oakland to steal Sammy Watkins. Pairing him with Megatron could result in the scariest WR duo in the league.
5 - OAK: Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn
After a trade to land Matt Schaub, the Raiders need to find someone to protect him. They are in win now mode.
6 - CLE: Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida
*TRADE* After trading down with Detroit, Cleveland has the fire power to move ahead of the Bucs to steal away Blake Bortles.
7 - TB: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M
Bucs traded Mike Williams leaving a gaping hole at receiver. Mike Evans is built like VJax, and playing alongside him would give Josh McCown 2 big redzone targets like he had in Chicago.
8 - STL: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
Rams need to protect Sam Bradford, and they moved down and are still able to land a franchise left tackle.
9 - BUF: Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix, FS, Alabama
Letting Jaruis Byrd go was absolutely insane. They need to find his replacement in the draft.
10 - ATL: Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina
You would have to think Atlanta is considering Ebron here, especially after trading down.
11 - NYJ: Marqise Lee, WR , USC
*TRADE* The Jets have a big need at WR and might want to sneak in front of the Giants to get a playmaking WR.
12 - NYG: Xavier Su'a-Filo, OL , UCLA
Giants have got to protect Eli, and Su'a-Filo is a versatile lineman who can play both guard and tackle.
13 - STL: Anthony Barr, LB, UCLA
The Rams have some interest in Khalil Mack but since he's long gone, Anthony Barr could be their backup plan.
14 - CHI: Aaron Donald, DL , Pittsburgh
A big dominant presence in the middle of the field could make for a tough Bears d-line.
15 - PIT: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
Pittsburgh needs help in the secondary and its about time they draft a corner in the first round.
16 - DAL: Darqueze Dennard, CB , Michigan State
Dallas is another team in need of a CB, and could easily land one at 16.
17 - BAL: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
BMore needs a right tackle after letting Michael Oher walk.
18 - TEN: Tom Savage, QB , Pittsburgh
His stock is on the rise and he could very well be a 1st round sleeper. After trading down, Tennessee can take this risk.
19 - MIA: Cyrus Kouandjio, OL , Alabama
Another lineman with stock on the rise, Miami would love to snag him up and keep Tannehill off the dirt.
20 - ARI: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
Perhaps not their biggest need, but after an impressive pro day, Arizona may want to consider taking Derek Carr to learn behind Palmer for a year or two.
21 - KC: Brandin Cooks, WR , Oregon State
*TRADE* KC moves up 2 spots to grab a WR before Philly does.
22 - PHI: Odell Beckham, WR , LSU
Philly gets the WR they wanted anyway, even after the trade up by KC.
23 - GB: C.J. Mosley, OLB, Alabama
Mosley would be a perfect fit to play in Green Bay's defense. An absolute steal for them at 23.
24 - CIN: Dee Ford, DE , Auburn
A replacement for Michael Johnson with a lot of upside.
25 - SD: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
San Diego needs help in their secondary.
26 - CLE: Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame
You have to compliment your drafted QB with either a receiver or a tackle. Better value with a lineman here.
27 - NO: Ryan Shazier, LB , Ohio State
Another piece to add to Rob Ryan's defense.
28 - CAR: Allen Robinson, WR , Penn State
The Panthers have nothing at receiver. NOTHING. They NEED something.
29 - NE: Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
Eventual replacement of Vince Wilfork.
30 - SF: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
Replacement for Whitner. Either him or Reid will have to move to Strong Safety.
31 - DEN: Tim Jernigan, DT, Florida State
Denver needs depth on defense. The superbowl showed that.
32 - JAX: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
*TRADE* Jacksonville can't believe Bridgewater fell this far and jumps ahead of Houston to take him to end the 1st round.
