2014 Outlook:Last updated on Jul-14-2014 by Brad Kruse
Turbin looked serviceable in his stints with Seattle. He has had 157 carries in his two seasons. If it weren't for Michael's presence, the world might be trying to draft Turbin as the future running back in Seattle. He was able to hold off Michael for the No. 2 role last year. Nothing in this game is guaranteed, so let's see if he's able to pull that feat off again this year. He is capable and this team is committed to the run. This alone holds value. Unless Lynch gets injured, Turbin has little to no value on your fantasy squad (excluding dynasty owners).
Seahawks general manager John Schneider told the Seattle Times that the organization's philosophy with respect to Lynch's holdout is "next man up." Schneider said part of managing a team is making "tough decisions." "We've had a plan in place here for a number of years, and we can't veer from that plan for one person because [football] is the ultimate team sport," Schneider said. Lynch's holdout is now in its seventh day. Yesterday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Lynch is accruing fines at a rate of $30,000 per day.Fantasy Analysis:
This hard-line posturing from Seahawks management is to be expected, as their struggle with Lynch's representation continues. It certainly appears that the team has more leverage in this situation, with Lynch's fines starting to stack up and Seahawks RB Christine Michael and Seahawks RB Robert Turbin performing well at camp. Lynch turned 28 this offseason, and showed some signs of slowing down toward the end of the 2013 season. Lynch is currently being taken as the 28th pick on average in fantasy drafts, but that number stands to drop precipitously if this holdout continues into the preseason.
