2013 Outlook: Super Sleeper (high risk/potential)

Last updated on Aug-21-2013 by Matt De Lima

Right now, the top RB spot in Green Bay is up for grabs, but Eddie Lacy was and still is the early favorite. The other back, Johnathan Franklin could emerge during the season. The former UCLA star is a solid dynasty add and a decent handcuff for Lacy considering his injury-riddled collegiate career. Both guys have the same opportunity and for all we know, the Packers may still use a 50-50 split workload. Franklin is going a few rounds later in the draft, so give him a shot in deeper leagues.

2013 Mock Draft Results

Month Position Franchise/Comments
2013 FFToolbox Staff Mock Draft #1
June 18th, 2013
9.07 FFToolbox - Cindie Crain - While most drafters believe Eddie Lacy is the main guy in Green Bay, I will take the less unheralded RB and pay a much cheaper price for him. If Eddie Lacy's injuries are a problem in 2013, Franklin will emerge as the top guy. Until then, I see both RBs' in a RBBC in Green Bay.
2013 FFToolbox Expert Mock Draft #2
July 2nd 2013
10.12 FFToolbox - Lacy's handcuff. He's explosive and should form a nice one-two punch on occasion even with a healthy Eddie Lacy.
2013 FFToolbox Expert Mock Draft #1
June 25th, 2013
12.08 FFToolbox -Scott - Pre-draft, Franklin was being discussed as the #1 rookie RB. Then he lands in Green Bay after Lacy. Well, with Lacy's potential injury situation and the fact that he landed in a high powered offense like GB, makes me confident Franklin will not only be a 3rd down contributor but he has potential to start a few games if something were to happen to Lacy.
2013 FFToolbox Expert Mock Draft #3
July 9th, 2013
10.01 KFFL - Tim - Here's a stab pick that could redeem my backfield. He should see at least tandem work with Eddie Lacy, whom I think is a bit overrated. Franklin is shifty and could be a better fit in this up-tempo offense as a big-play weapon.
