2013 Outlook:

Last updated on Oct-22-2013 by Matt De Lima

UPDATE: The Bucs will have to call upon James' services now that Doug Martin is out indefniitely and possibly the rest of the season with a torn labrum. James has the early edge on the depth chart; however, this should be considered an open competition. Behind James, there is also Brian Leonard and Bobby Rainey. James should be the go-to guy on first and second down though since he is a capable and durable runner.

With Doug Martin's stock at an all-time high, there isn't any room for another back in anyone's mind. No one yet has a hold on the Bucs' No. 2 spot in the backfield. Mike James will be competing directly with Brian Leonard, who was brought in via free agency earlier this spring. James, a sixth round pick from the University of Miami, is another compact runner with a relatively thick frame who can handle the ball between the hashes.

18.11 CBSSports - The handcuff for Doug Martin as long as he wins the job as expected. In a draft this deep, you should be able to handcuff your No. 1 running back if you plan accordingly.
