2009 Outlook: Deep-league Only

The 2008 season is one that Galloway would love to forget about. Despite playing in parts of 9 games (his lowest since the 2000 season), Galloway failed to score a touchdown for the first time in his 14 year career. He only caught 13 passes for 138 yards (also his lowest totals since the 2000 season). Before last season Galloway had been on a good run with 3 straight 1000 yards seasons and scoring 23 total touchdowns over that span. Galloway will be 37 when the season starts and he might have finally run out of gas. He was signed by New England to compete for the 3rd receiver spot with Greg Lewis, and if he wins the spot and can stay healthy he might be worth a look at the end of your draft.

Galloway is now 38 and appears to have lost a step, but should still be a very good 3rd option in the Patriots' passing game. As the 3rd receiver, he shouldn't be anything more then a late round draft pick.

2009 Mock Draft Results

Month Position Franchise/Comments
July 15.10 KFFL.com - I'm looking upside with my final position player of the draft. The injury to Donnie Avery handcuffed me a bit, too, so I was looking wideout here. Galloway enjoyed three straight 1,000-yard seasons before his debacle last year. Now that he's out of Tampa Bay and playing in the Pats' high-powered offense, I think we'll see the 2005-07 version of Galloway this year.
