2009 Outlook: Over the Hill (decreased production)

Hines Ward, now 33, did not show signs of slowing down last year as many expected. To the contrary, he got stronger as the season progressed, tallying four 100-yard games in the final eight -- his only four of the year. What he did not do all that often was score. Ward accumulated seven TDs with only two coming in the second half of the year. Hines Ward is a warrior and should be good to go following shoulder surgery in the offseason. He made 81 catches for 1,043 yards, his best season in five years. Don't pay for the 2008 stats as the 11-year vet topped 1000 yards for the first time since 2004. With the emergence of Limas Sweed, his production could dip in 2009. Hines remains a serviceable low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR heading into 2009.

July 8.10 eCouchCoach.com - Just signed a new contract, which may relax him a bit, but out of the receivers left he's the one I feel somewhat good about. Not ready to start picking up rookies who haven't proved anything in the big leagues while guys like this are still out there.
