2011 Outlook: Solid/Safe Pick
Despite battling hamstring injuries and father time (even at age 33), Ward played suited up in all 16 games and caught an impressive 95 passes for 1,167 yards last season. Temper your expectations heading into 2010, as the Steelers' offense will be without Big Ben for at least the first month and the team owner and Ward himself have petitioned the Steelers to establish a greater emphasis on the running game. The offensive line struggles in pass protection and Rashard Mendenhall proved that he can be the bell cow that the Pittsburgh offense can build around. The offseason trade of Santonio Holmes vaults Ward to the clear cut #1 wide out spot and he should be selected around WR25, making him a borderline WR2 starter in 12 team leagues. I would forecast a slight dip in his 2009 production as we expect an 800 yard season with 5 touchdowns as one of the more reliable receivers in the game enters his 12th season in the NFL.
